Funeral services for James Michael Dunn, 55, of Tishomingo will be held Monday, Feb. 9, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church with Revs. Rex Clayton and Charlie Cabaniss officiating. Internment will follow in the Condon Grove Cemetery with Military Honors provided by The Chickasaw Nation Honor Guard. Mr.

Dunn passed away Friday, Feb. 6, 2009, at his home.

James Michael Dunn was born Oct. 1, 1953, in Ardmore, Okla., to James Lee Dunn and Anna Lou Dean McArthur. He was the grandson of original enrollee Elizabeth Culberson Dunn. He married Rita Sawyer June 18, 1982 in Tishomingo where they made their home. Mr. Dunn took great pride in working for the Chickasaw Nation as Director of Facilities and Support.

He enjoyed raising champion English bulldogs. He was also a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and the fellowship that he had with the other members of the church. He also enjoyed listening to his daughters sing in church. Mike was honorably discharged from the United States Army during the Vietnam conflict in which he served from 1971-1975, achieving the rank of sergeant.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Lee Dunn, a brother, Joey Dunn, and grandparents, George and Elizabeth Dunn, Dennis Dean and Mary Jane Dean Cole.

Survivors include his wife Rita of the home; three daughters, Ashleigh of the home, Amber Tamez and husband Bubba of Marietta and Angela Gambel and husband Juston of Madill; one son, Bryson Dunn and wife Aleaha of Pauls Valley; four grandchildren, Amara and Keely Ingle, Chayton and Daniel Gambel; his mother and step-father, Anna and Richard McArthur of Tishomingo; two sisters and brother-in-law, Sheila and Rodney Reed of Wapanucka and Lisa and Bill Shephard of Tishomingo; three nephews; one niece; two greatnephews and one great-niece.

Pallbearers for the service will be: Byars Baken, Jerry Chapman, Wallace Coppedge, Greg Davison, Stanley Foster, Lt. Governor Jefferson Keel and Tommy Keel.

Honorary bearers will be Gov. Bill Anoatubby, Dale Keel, Garving Gray, Jimmy White and all other employees of the Chickasaw Nation under his supervision.
