Funeral services for Donald Seay were held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 29, 2001, at the Ryan United Methodist Church with Steve Harshaw, Clarence Mize and Doug Lott officiating.

Burial followed in the Ryan Cemetery under the direction of Dudley Funeral Home of Ryan.

Don was the son of Oscar Wayne and Willie Estelle Dodd Seay and was born November 27, 1933, at the family ranch home in Jefferson County and passed away Saturday, October 27,2001 at his home in Ryan. He had spent the afternoon eating lunch and watching football with his family and friends at the ranch.

 

On April 23,1955 , he married Dorothy Marie Hubbard in Sapulpa, Oklahoma.  Don was a retired rancher, faithful member of the Ryan United Methodist Church, part-time postal clerk at the Ryan Post Office, served as a Director on the Red River Valley REA Board for 21 years, and a Little League coach. He loved sports, playing with his grandchildren, dominoes, and supporting the Ryan community. He looked forward to class reunions and gatherings where he  loved visiting with people. Don will always be remembered for the many stories he told and his genuine love for people.

Preceding him in death were his parents and one sister, Clara Beth Schwartz.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, of the home; their sons - Jim and his wife Dortha of Ryan; Ken, also of Ryan; Greg and his wife Donna of Durant, OK; five grandchildren - Jamie Beth, Jana Marie, Amanda Paige, Zane Bryan, and Grayson Willie  GW Seay; nephew - Rick Schwartz; two nieces - Elisa Schwartz and Rebeca Avila.
