Delora Frances Tinsley

March 10, 1923 ~ June 7, 2012

Delora Frances Tinsley, longtime Norman resident and retired University of Oklahoma Press staff member, died Thursday, June 7. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 11, 2012 at Havenbrook Funeral Home, Norman Oklahoma. Graveside Services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at Blair Cemetery, Blair Oklaoma, in the family plot.
Born March 10, 1923, in Blair, the daughter of Heber and Ersel Tinsley, she moved to Norman in 1937 and attended University High School. She earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Oklahoma in 1949, and went to work at the OU Press. She retired as business manager at the Press in 1985.
She was a member of McFarlin Church, Altrusa International of Norman, PEO and Beta Sigma Phi.
Preceded in death by her parents and sister, Addie Belle, she is survived by numerous cousins, including Mary Sue, Mike and Kevin Hull and their families; Jolene, Jedda, Mark and Rowley Jones, and Bobbie Harris, Ann Griffin and their families and other Hawkins cousins, and her longtime companion and caregiver, Velma Williams.
Arrangements for Delora and her family were placed in the care of the Vice Family at the Havenbrook Funeral Home of Norman. Online condolences may be shared at www.havenbrookfuneralhome.com.
