Wilma J. Duke

February 27, 1944 - June 20, 2017

Wilma J. Duke was born February 27, 1944 in Sumter, South Carolina to T. W. and Helen (Parnell) Lowery. She passed away June 20, 2017 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 23 days.
At the age of 9, Wilma moved with her family to Germany and they remained there until moving Cache, Oklahoma where she married Gerald Duke in 1964. They remained in Cache and later lived in Sentinel, Hammon and Mangum before moving to Sayre in 1978 to make their home. She worked at Sol's Western Store and Tom's Boot and Saddle before becoming employed with Post Construction, where she managed the Post Exchange for many years. Wilma loved dancing, shopping, tending her flowers and raising puppies but her greatest love was her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
She is survived by her children, Sherree Duke Lowrance and husband, Jackie, of Elk City, OK, Foy Justin Duke and wife, Shannon, of Checotah, OK; 7 grandchildren, Jackie Sue Lowrance, Heather Lowrance Miller and husband, Will, Ridge Lowrance and wife, Lauren, Rowdy Duke, Hadley Jae Duke and Michael and Austin Carbaugh; 6 great grandchildren, Blake, Morgan, Parker and Andi Miller, Olen Spivey and River Jack Lowrance; 2 sisters and a brother, Barbara Johns of Elgin, OK, Penny Grooms of Rush Springs, OK and Frankie Barkley of Chico, TX and a host of other relatives, and friends.
