Virginia Herring Stout

Funeral services were held April 10 at the First United Methodist Church in Wetumka for Virginia Herring Stout. Rev. Harold Wheeler officiated at the services.
Ms. Stout was born Nov 25, 1916 in Wetumka to Grant and Ethel Jones Herring and died April 8.
Following high school she attended one and a half years of junior college. She then eloped to marry Eldon Stout on Dec. 27, 1934. He preceded her in death on April 9 2005. Ms. Stout outlived him by 264 days.
Ms. Stout moved to Peachtree Retirement Village in Holiday Island, AR. On July 15, 2003. There she met many great friends and enjoyed the activities. Stephen and Frances were fortunate to enjoy her company at area concerts, symphonies, art shoes, dinners, outings to watch soaring eagles, and see the seasons change in the Ozark Mountains.
She loved her time at Peachtree and spent many pleasant hours with her friends, she loved watching the birds, reading, and sports on TV, puzzles, walking and exercise. She had a very sharp, quick sense of humor and often laughed at her own missteps, and delighted in sharing them with others.
Survivors include her daughter, Frances Stout Miller and husband, Stephen of Eureka Springs, AR.: Grandson, Kevin L. Huff and wife, Terry: great grandchildren, Jacqui Hull and Richard Hull: brother, Jack Herring and wife Mary Jo: sister-in-law, Beulah Stout: and other relatives and friends.
Interment was in the Wetumka Cemetery under the direction of Williamson Funeral Home.
