Virginia Ruth King blessed the home of J.W. and Viola Lassiter on September 9, 1934. She spent her first years through the first grade in Okemah, Oklahoma. The family moved to Wetumka, OK, where Ruth attend school and graduated from high school. Her weekly treat was to go shopping on Saturdays to purchase a new piece of sheet music to play on the piano. After high school, Ruth attended 3 semesters at Oklahoma Baptist University on a music scholarship.

Ruth’s desire to finish her degree took her to Central State University (now University of Central Oklahoma), where she completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Education and Master’s Degree in Counseling. She taught elementary school for 20 years.

Ruth continued sharing her love for the Lord and music by being the organist for West 10th Street Baptist Church for 15+ years before becoming the organist for the 1st Baptist Church of Bethany for 30 years. At age 12, Ruth accepted the Lord Jesus as her Savior. It was her desire to share His love with everyone she met. She is celebrating now in Heaven with her Lord and Savior, as well as her beloved Carl! What an Easter Celebration she is having. She will be missed greatly by her adopted family, Larry and Sharon Wetwiska; cousin, Barbara Kneese and husband Larry, as well as a host of friends.
