Mrs. Dunn Buried Here Wednesday
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 1, at 2 p.m. in the First Baptist church for Mrs. Hillie Dunn. Rev. Joe Dan Franklin, assisted by Rev. Russell Murrell, officiated.
Mrs. Dunn was born Feb. 14, 1879 and died Feb. 27, 1967 in Mercy Hospital, Oklahoma City. She was a member of the First Baptist church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ansel Dunn, in 1952. They lived in Alma, Ark. until 1926 and moved to Oklahoma. They moved to Wetumka in 1927.
Survivors included three daughters: Mrs. N.L. Collins, England, Ark., Mrs. Rue Rogers, Lodi, Calif., and Mrs. Frona Silvey, Galveston, Tex.; four sons: Ray Dunn, Chickasha, Roy Dunn, Del City, Ronald Dunn, Midwest City and Earl Dunn, McAlester; 18 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearer included C. M. Murphey, Clyde Burkes, Haskell Brock, Gil Pippen, Bob Davis and Bill Conley.
Interment was in the Wetumka Cemetery under the direction of Spiller Funeral Home.

Notes: Hazel Dunn, Hillie's daughter-in-law, wrote two corrections on the copy of the obit that she saved. First, the article listed Hillie's sons as brothers, and Second, they had omitted Ray Dunn of Chickasha under surviving sons, so she added his name. What you have here is a transcribed copy of the obit as Hazel corrected it.
