Raymond Floyd Palin age 92 of Newcastle, formerly of Savanna, OK, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on July 4, 2016.

He was born on September 10, 1923 in Sutherland, Nebraska. He was the 3rd child of eight children born to Wilber Henry Palin and Valma Alfalfa (Mason) Palin. Raymond grew up a farm boy learning how to work hard. He kept that same work ethic throughout his life by working in the outdoors and working with his hands. Raymond lived in Montana for over 50 years of his life, working as a rancher and as a logger. While living in Montana he also was a foster parent of 13 children, being a great example of a hard working father and family man.

In 1972 he married Evelyn Loraine Dill, now two families joined together as one family. Raymond and Evelyn remained living in Montana until 1986 when he retired and they moved to Arkansas. Then in 2008 they moved to Savanna, OK to be close to their daughter, Deborah. Because of his failing health, this past year they moved to Newcastle to live with their daughter, Molly.

Throughout his life, Raymond was a self-taught Jack of All Trades, fixing anything that needed to be repaired. He loved being around his family, especially his children and grandchildren. He had a great sense of humor and was a practical joker. He loved trout fishing and was always ready for a good game of Pool. He will be greatly missed.

He was preceded in death by: Parents, Wilber and Valma Palin; Son-in-law, Gabe Burris, Two brothers, Alvie and Weaver, Two sisters, Louise and Gladys.

He is survived by: Wife of 44 years, Evelyn Palin of the home in Newcastle, Four children, Kathy Dodge and husband Pat of Veneta, WA, Molly Burris of Newcastle, OK, Deborah Miller of Savanna, OK, Dennis Dill of Mannsville, OK; Two brothers, Clarence and Ernie; One sister, Anna; 10 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren. Also many other loving relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Holdenville Cemetery Chapel in Holdenville, OK.
