Barbara Jo “Bobby” Dolton, 77, of Holdenville, Oklahoma, passed away June 4, 2006. She was born in Holdenville, Oklahoma on December 24, 1928, to Clyde Balch and the former Ruby Stroup. She graduated from Holdenville High School then attended St. Anthony’s School of nursing. She then attended Oklahoma A&M until marrying Robert A. Dolton on July 23, 1950 in Holdenville. She was a homemaker until opening Broadway Home Furnishings in 1977. She was a member of Alpha Mothers Club for 51 years.
She is survived by 4 Children: Jane Ellen Whitson and her husband Johnie of Bixby, Oklahoma, Clifford Anderson Dolton and his wife Jana of Edmond, Oklahoma, Dr. William Alan Dolton, of Norman, Oklahoma, James Robert Dolton and wife Pauline of Collinsville, Oklahoma. 9 Grandchildren: Matthew Brian Dolton, Jennifer Ellen Dunbar and husband Nicolas, Monty Robert Dolton, Mary Ashlea Dolton, Andrew James Whitson, Sara Elizabeth Dolton, Kathryn Paige Dolton, James Bryce Dolton and Emily Ann Dolton. 3 Great-Grandchildren: Justin Tyler Dolton, Katherine Ellen Dunbar and James Nicolas Dunbar.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Robert A. Dolton who passed away April 19, 2006.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, June 7, 2006, 10:30 a.m. at the Barnard Memorial United Methodist Church with interment following at Holdenville Cemetery.
