Services for Tropa Mae West, 67, Allen, are 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Richmond Avenue Free Will Baptist Church, Rev. Buddy Drake will officiate. Burial will follow at Atwood Cemetery.
Mrs. West died Saturday, November 1, 2008 at a local hospital. She was born August 26, 1941 at Hartshorne, Oklahoma to Clettious and Mable Tropa Carter Moore. She attended Atwood schools.
She married Coy Morris West on March 29, 1958 at Oklahoma City. Mrs. West retired from J. P. Emco after 28 years of service. She was a Union Leader and organizer for the local United Rubber Workers Union.
Survivors include her husband, Coy Morris West, of the home; two daughters, J. Elaine Rhynes and husband David, Stonewall, and Connie Frederick and husband Robert, Ada; two sons, Coy West and wife Susan, Trophy Club, TX, and Carlous West and wife Becky, Ada; a brother, Robert Moore and wife Zedna, Holdenville; grandchildren, Michael Pollard, Midwest City, Lesley Pollard McClarty, Stonewall, Rob Frederick and wife Megan, Ada, Rev. Scott Frederick, Ada, Emily West, Stillwater, Abby West, Trophy Club, TX, Lizzy West, Trophy Club, TX, Keegan West, Ada, Kaylan West, Ada; a step-granddaughter, Rachel Rhynes, Dallas, TX; great grandchildren, Logan Pollard and his mother, Amber Pollard, Ada, Bailee Pollard, Florida, Jaymin Rhynes, Stonewall, Brayden Rhynes, Stonewall, and Alexa-Kate Rhynes, Stonewall; a step-great granddaughter, Ja’Lia Thomas, Dallas, TX; a brother-in-law, Harold West and wife Karole and family; nieces and nephews, Marquitta and Terry Blaine, Lanesia, Wyatt and Jake Speaks, Michael and Heather Moore, all of Moore, Wayne and Jean Moore, Midwest City, Steve Moore, Dibble, Carly and Stevie Moore, Oklahoma City, Jamie West, Diane Johnson and son, Hunter, Oklahoma City, David West, and Jerry West.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister and brother-in-law, Alta Brewer and Lee Brewer.
Bearers will be Carlous West, Coy West, Michael Pollard, Keegan West, Rob Frederick, and Scott Frederick. Honorary bearers will be the Allen Chapter of the Red Hats Society.
