JAY LYNN HART

Woodward, Okla. - Jay Lynn Hart, 56, was born on February 10, 1955 at Shattuck to H. R. and Mary Lea (Aldridge) Hart and departed this life for his home in Heaven, Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at his home in Laverne.

Jay attended the Laverne Schools and graduated from Laverne High School with the class of 1973.

Jay was baptized in the First Christian Church in Laverne.

On May 26, 1984 Jay and Paula Lippett were united in marriage and to this union one son, Chanse Ray, was born. Chanse was the delight of Jay's life. He was very proud of each accomplishment in his son's life. Jay's heart and thoughts revolved around Chanse. He cherished every day they had together.

Jay was employed by the Phillips Petroleum Company until he became a licensed plumber. He worked in Liberal, Kansas, Oklahoma City and Dallas, Texas before establishing his own business in Laverne.

Due to failing health, Jay has been unable to work the last few years. He appreciated the love and kindness of his family and friends. Most every evening his Mother took him a good home cooked meal.

His dog "Jack" was his constant companion.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Maude Aldridge, Ray Aldridge, T. J. and Nell Hart.

Jay leaves as his survivors his son, Chanse Ray and wife, Leyna of Hawaii, his parents, H.R. and Mary Lea Hart of Laverne; three sisters, Gale Green and husband, Alan of Enid, OK; Vicki Handke and husband, David of Wichita, KS; Mona Schmitz and husband, Kenny of Woodward, OK; one brother, Ray Hart and wife, Lisa of Van Buren, AR; many nephews and nieces, other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Laverne Cemetery in Laverne, Oklahoma with Pastor Marvin Garrison of the Laverne First Christian Church and Pastor Wes Peterman of the Laverne Assembly of God Church officiating. Music selections for the service are "One Day At A Time," and " Standing On Holy Ground." Casket bearers will be Ray Hart, Allen Green, Kenny Schmitz, Brian Green, Trevor Pemberton and Tanner Schmitz. Honorary casket bearers will be Evan Hart, Derrick Pemberton, Jason Green, Jerod Green, Conner Schmitz and Parker Schmitz. Jay will lay in state at the Laverne First Christian Church in Laverne, Oklahoma from Friday, September 23, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday, September 24, 2011, 10:00 a.m. to noon. Jay's family entrusted the Mason Funeral Home of Shattuck, Oklahoma with all of the arrangements.
