William W. "Bill" Goodwin

September 7, 1913 ~ July 21, 1985

Laverne - William W. (Bill) Goodwin, 71, died Sunday. The funeral will be at 2:30 PM Wednesday in the Assembly of God Church with the Rev. Wesley Peterman officiating. Burial will be in the Laverne Cemetery under the direction of the Seeger Funeral Home. Graveside rites will be given by the Laverne American Legion post.

He was born September 7, 1913 at Doxie, grew up in the Vici community, and was employed by the railroad.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army. After the war he returned to work for the railroad at Laverne.

Goodwin later worked as a police officer in Laverne.

On December 22, 1967, he married Corda Prophet Hancock at Woodward. In 1969 they moved to Shattuck, where he worked with the police department for 13 years.

Goodwin was a member of the Assembly of God Church and the Laverne American Legion, where he received a 40 – year pin.

He was preceded in death by a son, one brother, and two sisters.

Survivors include his wife; three sons, James Goodwin, Woodward; Allen Goodwin, Ft. Supply; Neal Goodwin, Laverne; one step son, Leon Hancock, Evanston, Wyoming; two daughters, Mrs. Dan (Betty) Feese, Woodward and Mrs. Ronnie (Barbara) Kraus, Buffalo; one step daughter, Leona Blitch, Arcadia, Florida; five brothers, two sisters; 16 grandchildren and nine great – grandchildren.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Assembly of God Church with the funeral home acting as custodian of the fund.
