Verda Della Allen

 June 7, 1896 ~ October 25, 1988

Laverne – the funeral for Verda Della Allen, 92, will be at 2 PM Saturday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Chris Cassel, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Laverne Cemetery directed by Seeger Funeral Home.

Mrs. Allen died Tuesday in a Stillwater hospital.

She was born June 7, 1896, in Jewel County, Kansas. The family came to Harper County in 1911 and settled on a farm northwest of Laverne.

On June 7, 1915, she married Vernon McDowell Allen at Guymon. They lived in Harper County. She was a member of First Christian Church and Rebekah Lodge.

Preceding her in death were her husband, on April 8, 1980, a daughter, five brothers and three sisters.

Surviving are four sons, Loren of Stillwater, Bradford "Brownie" of Laverne, Melvin of Alva and Leland of Woodward; 14 grandchildren; 25 great – grandchildren; and a great – great – grandchild.

Memorials may be made to First Christian Church, Cancer Research or Jaws for Life of Laverne.
