Susan Harper, 52 year old Buffalo resident died Wednesday, December 25, 2013 in Oklahoma City. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church main campus with Reverend Daniel Castor officiating. Private family interment will be held at a later date with the Billings Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Susan Rene Harper was born on January 17, 1961 on the Perin Air Force Base in Denison, Texas. She was the daughter of John Lloyd and Paula LaVerne (Arrington) Jackson. Susan spent most of her childhood in Woodward, graduating from Woodward High School in 1979. She was blessed with four daughters, Larissa, Lacey, Sara, and Shilo. Susan was united in marriage to Greg Harper in Las Vegas, Nevada on September 9, 1999. Susan and Greg made their home in Buffalo.

Susan was a very active member of the Buffalo community. She started the First Responders Class at Buffalo High School. She was a member of B.E.A.R.S. (Buffalo Emergency Ambulance Rescue Squad). Susan was also a Trustee for the town of Buffalo.

Susan worked at a variety of jobs over the years. USPCI, Beaver Express and Terra Nitrogen were just a few. Her passion, however, was in the emergency medical field. Susan served as Past President of the Oklahoma Emergency Medical Technician Association. She taught several courses and was a First Responder and EMT instructor. She was also appointed by Governor Brad Henry to the Governor�s EMS Readiness Task Force.

Susan was a member of the Woodward Theater Group and participated in several plays. She enjoyed reading in her leisure time and would often sing at church services. She enjoyed spending summers at the lake with family and friends. Sporting events meant time spent with her girls. During the fall she enjoyed doing a bit of dove hunting.

Susan is survived by her husband Greg of the home; four daughters, Larissa Moore and husband Simon of Midwest City; Lacey Lillard of Woodward; Sara Jones of Weatherford; Shilo Harper of Buffalo; mother, Paula Jackson of Woodward; two sisters, Johnita Cope and husband John of Fargo; Sherri Kline and husband Joe Bill of Enid; two grandchildren, Hudson Aultz and Owen Moore; several nieces, nephews other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, brother, Rick Jackson, sister, Paula Jayne Walters, and one niece, Paula Jo Anderson.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Susan Harper Children's Education Fund with the funeral home accepting the contributions.
