The funeral for Lucille C. Baird, 86, of Buffalo, will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2009, at United Methodist Church, Buffalo. The Rev. Woody Hamon will officiate. Burial will be in High Point Cemetery , Buffalo. Arrangements are by Myatt Funeral Home, Buffalo. Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

She was born July 22, 1922, in Rosston to Sidney S. and Nellie Secrest Furgason and died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Harper County Community Hospital, Buffalo.

She graduated from Buffalo High School in 1943.

She married George Milton "Hoot" Baird April 27, 1946, in Ashland, Kan. He died Sept. 19, 1983.

She served as Harper County Clerk from 1964 to 1975 and retired from Western State Hospital. She was a member of United Methodist Church, Buffalo, Doby Springs Golf Club and the Buffalo Bowling Team.

Surviving are two sons, Gean Baird of Perryton, Texas, and Jerry Layne Baird of Buffalo; one brother, Junior Furgason of Stillwater; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, George, she was preceded in death by two brothers and six sisters.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home, P.O. Box 749, Buffalo, OK 73834, to United Methodist Church, Buffalo.
