BUFFALO - The funeral for Theodore Roosevelt "Ted" Adkins, 76, who died Wednesday in the Western Nursing Home at Buffalo, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Lutheran Church at Buffalo. The Rev. John Schmidt, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in the High Point Cemetery under direction of Seeger Funeral Home.
Adkins was born Feb 7, 1909, at Pikesville, Ky., to Wayne Wright and Francis C. Adkins. He moved to Oklahoma in 1919 or 1920 to join his mother in Beaver County, and at the age of 16 moved to Harper County to make his home with Fred Hornbecks family on a ranch northeast of Selman. He and Sarah Ann Wheeler were married May 25, 1933, in Buffalo.
Survivors include his wife, Sarah; three sons, James, Selman and Sam, all of Buffalo, and Fred of Chula Vista, Calif.; one daughter, Arnetta Harris of Waynoka; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and four brothers.
Memorials in his name may be made to B.E.A.R. at Buffalo with the funeral home serving as custodian of the funds.
