Robert Karl "Kip" Sisson, Sr.

Sisson, Sr., Robert Karl, 76, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 11, 2010 in Norman, Oklahoma.  He was born March 20, 1934 in Osage, Oklahoma to Robert and Mildred (Jackson) Sisson.  Robert was proud of his Cherokee Indian Heritage and his Indian name, Kip.  He was united in marriage on May 13, 1958 in Oklahoma City to LaHonda Hardin.

Robert served his country in the Navy Reserve and the United States Army as a sharp shooter.  He was a minister and an elder who loved helping people and serving God.  He had many endeavors throughout his life including serving as vice president of the OU Rufnecks, owning an ambulance service in Nebraska, serving as a city councilman in Colorado and a policeman in Norman.  Robert enjoyed painting, drawing, Native American puzzles, art and lifestyle, and working in his yard.

Robert is survived by his wife, LaHonda Sisson; three sons, Robert K. Sisson, Jr. and wife Leoria of Sudan, TX, Ron D. Sisson of Moore and Ron J. Sisson and wife Wendi of Memphis, TN; one daughter, Martha Provost of OKC; one brother, James Sisson of Huntsville, AL; one sister, Saundra Gustus and husband Vernon of Fowler, KS; two sisters-in-law, Joyce Johnson and husband Wayne of Edmond, OK and Meryl Lynn Sorrell and husband “T” of Colbert, OK; and ten grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his parents; his grandson, Christopher Lee; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clyde and Edith Hardin.

Visitation will be held 5:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M., Friday, October 15, 2010 at Havenbrook Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 16, 2010 at Southwest Church of Christ, 3031 SW 104th St., Oklahoma City, Oklahoma with interment following at Independence Cemetery, Vinson, Oklahoma under the direction of Havenbrook Funeral Home.
