Ruby A (Burton) Teakell

Ruby Teakell was born July 6, 1932 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma to Iva Mae and Marvin Fredell Burton. She passed away April 28, 2017 at Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 84 years9 months and 22 days.  

Ruby moved with her family to western Oklahoma and attended school at Retrop. She married Troy Bilbrey and two children, Charles and Ronnie, were born to this union. She worked with her brother, Randall, for several years harvesting wheat and also worked as a waitress at the Retrop Café and Grocery. She was married to Wilmer Gene "Teak" Teakell at Sayre, Oklahoma on August 25, 1967 and they made their home in Sayre. She was an avid fan of NASCAR but her greatest love was spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son, Ronnie Bilbrey, a sister, Elwanda San Miguel, and a brother, Fredell Burton.

She is survived by her children, Charles Bilbrey and wife, Karletta, of Sayre, OK Yanina Mullins and husband, Roger, of Oakwood, OK, Michael Teakell and wife, Nelda, of Youngsville, LA, Tammy Reed and husband, Kenneth, of Sweetwater, OK, Chesta Bohannon of Sayre, OK; a sister, Charlotte Neece and husband, Paul, of Sayre, OK; a brother, Randall Burton and wife, Shirley, of Willow, OK; 14 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, and 1 on the way; a niece she considered a granddaughter, Jennifer Neece; several nieces and nephews, including Rhonda San Miguel, and a host of other relatives and friends.
