Sammy Denney, 74, of Amarillo, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2000.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. today in Willow Cemetery at Willow, Okla. Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St.

Mr. Denney was born in Willow. During World War II he served with the Navy as a boatswain's mate third class on the USS Tazewell. He was a member of Bell Avenue Church of Christ.

He married Lorene Stowe in 1943 at Cheyenne, Okla.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Sammy Jo Frasier of Amarillo; two sons, Bobby G. Denney of Fort Worth and Randy K. Denney of Gunter; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

The family suggests memorials to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176 or West View Boy's Home, P.O. Box 553, Hollis, OK 73550-9901.
