David was born on March 1, 1956, in Des Moines, Iowa to David L. Sr., and Kay (Cross) Caley. At age twelve, the family moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin where they lived until he graduated from Bay View High School, in 1974. David attended Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Waxahachie, Texas, and later the University of Southern Colorado, in Pueblo. Transferring to Oral Roberts University, in Tulsa, he received a degree in Biomedical Chemistry. In 1984, David graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine. Upon receipt of his Board Certification in Family Medicine, the family moved to Mangum where he continually practiced medicine until his death. On November 12, 1976, God allowed David to marry the love of his life, Renata Pittock, in Canon City, Colorado and they spent the next thirty-five wonderful years together. They have two daughters, Angela and Ashley-their daddy’s pride and joy.
Dr. Caley, a Godly man who loved and cared for his family, friends and patients, was a member of God’s Holy Church, the Mangum First United Methodist, American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Medicine and the Greer County Medical Association. When he wasn’t practicing medicine, David loved farming and spending time with his family, especially his granddaughters. He was deeply involved in medical missions in Africa, Costa Rica and was the founder of the Cross Free Clinic in Mangum, which provides free healthcare for those in need.
Preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Carl and Lois Pittock and one sister, Linda Kay Holtz, Dr. Caley is survived by his loving wife, Renata, of the home; two daughters, Angela Germany and husband Chad of Waxahachie, Texas and Ashley Tice and husband Ricky of Mangum; three granddaughters, Mercy Germany, Noelle Germany and Paizlee Tice; his parents, Rev.
