William Anderson Brooks, age 62, of Granite, passed away early Tuesday morning, August 11, 2015, at his residence, in Granite.

Mr. Brooks was born on July 3, 1953, in Hobart, to Earl Wayne and Jenoise (Cogdill) Brooks. Living in Granite, Bill attended Granite Schools and graduated with the class of 1971. Shortly after graduation, Bill joined the United States Army, where he proudly served his country from a missile site, in the mountains, of Germany. Returning to Granite, Bill began working in the oil fields and became a master welder. For a short time he worked for Wonder Bread in Altus and Lawton, then for Yale Tank Company for many years. Returning to the oil field as a truck driver, he continued that job until his health began to fail. In his spare time, Bill enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and collecting Harley Davidson memorabilia.

Preceded in death by his father; his step-father, Louis Barclay and his brother, Guy Brooks, he is survived by his mother, Jenoise Barclay of Granite; two daughters, Tina Brooks of Huntsville, Alabama and Christen Brooks Hughes and husband Shannon of Killen, Alabama; two grandchildren, Aubree Jackson and Max Jackson of Killen, Alabama; one sister, Linda Morris and husband Paul of Granite; one brother, Doc Brooks and wife Tina of Granite; the mother of his children, Reta Roden of Killen, Alabama along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m., Friday, August 14, 2015, at the Granite Church of Christ with Ken Hamilton officiating.
