August 19, 1935 - July 26, 2020

Carl "Bud" Orlie Thornburgh (84) of Pond Creek, passed away on July 26, 2020, at the St. Mary's Regional Medical Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

Carl was born August 19, 1935 to Carl Heaton and Icel Lorraine (Waggoner) Thornburgh. Carl was raised in the Pond Creek, Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas area. He graduated in 1954 from East High School, Wichita, Kansas. Carl loved spending time with his sister Linda Sue (Barwick) of Pond Creek and friends, country line dancing. He loved horses and all forms of farm work.

Carl married Ruth Charlene Smith on November 3, 1956 in Wichita, Kansas. They had four children. Carmen Moore of Missouri; William Nathan Thornburgh of Kansas; Carl Allen Thornburgh of Alaska; and Bonnie Hinman of Arkansas. In 1972, he joined in marriage with Sondra Ann (Thurston) and had one son, Carl Thornburgh Jr. of Missouri. Carl then married Dorothy M (Dobbs) in 1996.

Carl is survived by his 1 sister, 5 children, 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Bonnie Lou Brooks, wife Sondra Ann and wife Dorothy.

Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2020, at Wilson Funeral Home in Pond Creek, OK officiated by Pastor Les Washnock. Interment to follow in Pond Creek Cemetery. Memorials to Pond Creek EMS Association or Pond Creek Cemetery.
