Pond Creek Cemetery



The funeral for Fred Speldie, 94, of Pond Creek, will be 2 p.m. Thursday at United Methodist Church, Pond Creek. The Rev. Darin McCarty will officiate. Burial will be in Pond Creek Cemetery.

He was born April 28, 1911, near Jefferson to Frank and Luanna Alcorn Speldie and died Monday, Oct. 10, 2005, at United Methodist Home, Enid.

He grew up in Grant County and graduated from Gore consolidated school.

He married Edith Eulberg December 1934, at Manchester. He was a farmer/stockman until his retirement in 1980. They then moved to Medford.

Surviving are four sisters, Mary Wilson of Pond Creek, Barbara Oblander of Goddard, Kan., Judy Kingsbury of Bartlesville and Jean Maupin of Siletz, Ore.; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Besides his wife, Edith, he was preceded in death by one sister and one grandson.

Memorials may be made to Hawley Fire Department or Pond Creek Cemetery Association.
