Bonnie Jean Norris 70, passed into eternal life on Thursday, April 2, 2015. Bonnie Jean was born Dec. 16, 1944, in Enid, Okla. to Earl and Betty Kay Neilson.

In Bonnie’s early years she was a medical transcriptionist at St. Mary’s Hospital.

She raised two children in the Pond Creek-Kingfisher area.

She moved to Eldorado, Kan., and married Ronald “Bud” Norris on May 16, 1944.

Bud and Bonnie were reunited high school friends after many years and she loved to travel with Bud down country roads looking for their next great fishing hole. The greatest joy of her life was her family and her grandchildren.

She was preceeded in death by her parents, Earl and Betty Kay Neilson; one brother, Larry Dean Neilson; and a daughter, Connie Kay Cross.

She is survived by her husband, Bud Norris; sister, Helen Moore of Haysville, Kan.; brother, Marvin Neilson of Enid, Okla.; son, John Hurst (LeAnn) Of Rush Springs, Okla.; stepchildren, Terry Hagebusch (Donny) of Augusta, Kan., Tammy Hourigan Lowe (Don) of Towanda, Kan., and Thomas Norris (Lori) of Augusta, Kan; 15 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She never met a stranger and leaves behind many dear friends.

Visitation for Bonnie will be 6-8 p.m. Monday, April 6, 2015, at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek. Graveside service is 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2015, at Pond Creek Cemetery, with the Rev. Les Washnock officitating.

Memorials may be made to the Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice Center, 929 N. St. Francis, Wichita, KS 67214. (Submitted by family)
