Pond Creek Cemetery


April 13, 1916 - July 11, 2019

Edna Marie (Isaacs) Meritt Rosary will be 2:00 P.M., Monday, July 15, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek with Father Mike Wheelahan officiating interment will follow in Pond Creek Cemetery.

Edna Marie (Isaacs) Meritt was born on April 13, 1916 in Pond Creek, Oklahoma to Nicholas Joseph Isaacs and Myrtle Ivy Christmas. She was married to Fred Meritt of Jefferson, Oklahoma on January 25, 1941 in Medford, Oklahoma. She graduated Jefferson High School 1933. Following graduation, she worked for the telephone company and ran the switchboard for the town of Jefferson. She had a love for home interior decorating, hand sewing and bead crafts. She was know for planting beautiful terrariums. She was a farm wife until her husband passed away. Following his death, she moved into Pond Creek where she lived until 2012. Due to declining health she moved to St. Katherine Drexel Assisting Living Center, El Reno, Oklahoma. She died July 11, 2019.

She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pond Creek, Oklahoma. She was also a meber of the Altar Society and Riverdale Grange.

She was preceded in death by her husband Fred Meritt, Parents, N. J. and Myrtle Isaacs and grandson Nickolas Meritt and three brothers, James Isaacs, N. J. Isaacs and Charles Isaacs.

She is survived by her son, Kay Lee Meritt and wife Yvonne on Union City, Oklahoma, grandson, Kris Meritt of Union City, Oklahoma, great grandson Ryan Meritt and great granddaughter Jessi Meritt both of Wellston, Oklahoma, and several nieces and nephews

Memorials may be made to Pond Creek Cemetery Association.
