August 1, 1932 - April 5, 2020

Out of love and safety for the health of our family and friends, the Shirley Klugh family will save our visitation, hugs, and personal greetings for you when a Celebration of Life is held in the future. Thank you for your prayers." Burial will be in Pond Creek Cemetery, Thursday, April 9, 2020. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Shirley was born August 1, 1932 on a farm near Hillsdale, OK to Herma and Dennie Messenger, 9th of 11 children and passed away April 5, 2020. She graduated from Hillsdale High School in 1950. On August 27, 1950, she married Leon Klugh. To this union were born six children. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was involved in all the kids' school activities; and served many years on the Hunter and Pond Creek-Hunter school boards. Shirley was an avid sports fan, she made it a priority to be at her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's events. Over the years, Shirley cared for many children in her home day care which she ran for 15 years.

She is survived by her children, Dennis (Debbie) Klugh of Fort Cobb, OK, Patta (Robert) Grimes of Hunter, OK, Calvin (Robin) Klugh of Tulsa, OK, Jon (Onie) Klugh of Neosho, MO, Dana Brakhage of Lahoma, OK; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; one sister, Donna (Don) Strunk and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, her husband Leon; son Larry; son-in-law, Gentry Brakhage; grandson, Richard Mack and nine siblings.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials in Shirley's name may be made to support her granddaughter who is working among the unreached and oppressed internationally, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
