ENID, Okla. — Funeral for Lynn Eugene Kindred, 61, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 5, 2013, at Pond Creek United Methodist Church, officiated by the Rev. George Lupton. Interment will be in Pond Creek Cemetery under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.

Lynn died Monday, July 1, 2013, at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center, surrounded by his family. He was born Nov. 13, 1951, in Enid, Okla., to Beryl and Shirley (Tanton) Kindred.

He attended grade school in Jefferson and transferred to attend high school in Pond Creek. He graduated with the class of 1970. Upon graduation, Lynn attended Oklahoma State University and Okmulgee Tech.

Lynn married Sheron (Cook) Kindred on June 1, 1973, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Pond Creek.

Lynn’s passion was farming, growing wheat and alfalfa and raising Hereford cattle. He served a term on the board of Farmers Grain Co. and the Kay Electric Minutemen Program.

Lynn was a member of Pond Creek United Methodist Church.

Lynn is survived by his parents, Beryl and Shirley Kindred of Medford; wife, Sheron; children, Jennifer of Tulsa and Russell of Pond Creek; brother, Richard and wife Carlan of Blackwell; nephews, David Kindred of Tulsa and Brian Kindred and wife Nunu and their son Aaron of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; brother-in-law, Mike and Linda Cook and family; and sister-in-law, Donna and John Sutton.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Roy and Wilma Kindred and Josephine Kindred and maternal grandparents, Ralph and Ola Tanton.

Memorials may be made to Pond Creek-Hunter FFA or Pond Creek-Hunter Education Foundation.
