Pond Creek Cemetery


Mary L. Combs, age 66, Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Wilson Funeral Chapel with interment following in Pond Creek Cemetery. The visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wilson Funeral Chapel, Pond Creek.

Mary Louise Combs was born December 16, 1939 to Virgil Van and Helen Ann Winn Crim in Springfield, Missouri. Mary died September 1, 2006 in Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in Enid, Oklahoma.

She was a Jehovah’s Witness. Mary graduated from Harper, Kansas High School in 1958. She married Jack Combs in Harper, Kansas June 13, 1958. They moved to Hutchinson, Kansas in 1960. They moved to Orange County, California later in 1960. In 1972, they moved to Pond Creek. Her husband carpentered and worked for the City of Anaheim, California.

Mary was with the Wheat Heart Nutrition in Pond Creek for 15 years. She enjoyed Gardening, Quilting and her grandchildren, cooking and making clothes.

She is survived by her husband Jack Combs, Pond Creek; one son, Stephen Combs, Pond Creek; two daughters, Lisa Rogers and husband James, Oklahoma City, Jill Centore and husband Federico, Mandeville, Louisiana; two brothers and four sisters and five grandchildren, Samantha Combs, John Combs, Ashlee Rogers, Tanner Eberhardt and Isabella Centore.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Stephanie Combs; two sisters and one brother.

Memorials may be made to the Pond Creek Ambulance Association.
