ENID — A memorial service for Alfred "Chris" Christmas, 73, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at Anderson - Burris Chapel with Rev. Dave Jones and Rev. Cameron Moles officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Anderson - Burris Funeral Home and Crematory.

Per Chris' request, casual dress is requested.

Chris was born Dec. 19, 1937, to Harry and Emma (Oliver) Christmas north of Jefferson, Okla., and died Monday, May 2, 2011, in Enid.

He attended grade school in Enid. Chris attended junior high and graduated from Drummond High School in 1955. He worked for area farmers until 1957.

Chris served in Oklahoma National Guard from 1956 until 1964. He was employed as a mechanic at Vater Implement Co. from 1958 until 2001. He retired in 2001 due to failing health.

On May 18, 1961, he married Carol Puckett and they had three children.

Chris enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family at the area lakes and vacationing in Colorado.

He was preceded in death by his infant son Donald Lee, parents and a nephew Rex Haley.

He is survived by his daughter and husband, Jacque Sue and Michael Olsen of North Enid; son and his wife, Robert and Tammy Christmas of Enid; two grandchildren, Christina Olsen and Shane Christmas; one sister, Harriet Weber of Sand Springs, Okla.; other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to OMRF, lung division.
