Loran Leo Zweiacker

New Home Cemetery

April 10, 1947 - January 21, 2019

Loran Leo Zweiacker, Stillwater, Oklahoma, entered eternal life on Monday, January 21, 2019, at age 71, surrounded by family at his home. Loran was born April 10, 1947, to Leo and Anna (Mindemann) Zweiacker in Walters, Oklahoma.

Loran graduated from Big Pasture High School in 1965 and received his State FFA Farmers degree the same year. After attending the University of Cameron for two years, he graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1969 with a bachelor’s in agricultural education. He went on to receive his master’s in the same field from OSU in 1971.

Loran married Suzanne Logsdon Zweiacker on August 12, 1973, and the couple moved to Pawnee in 1979 where they resided for 30 years. Loran served the Soil Conservation Service, now the Natural Resources Conservation Service, for 37 years as the district conservationist for Pawnee county and surrounding areas. Loran was involved in numerous organizations in the Pawnee community including the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club, Jaycees, Boy Scouts of America, Black Bear Booster club, 4-H and FFA booster clubs and the Pawnee Summer Ball program. He was responsible for the creation of the outdoor classroom at the Pawnee Lake and the Pawnee Lady Bear softball fields. One of his greatest passions was the Pawnee Summer Ball program, and he spent many summers coaching, building and maintaining the softball fields, and umpiring.

He is survived by his wife Suzanne and their children and grandchildren whose stories he would share with anyone who would listen: Jeremy (wife Jessica, children Madison and Mason); Jennifer (husband CJ, children Katch, Kallan and Kolynns) and Jillianne (husband Tanner, children Tenleigh and Tatum). He is also survived by his sisters Trudie Kinder, Martha Ann Ely (husband Don), and Treva James (husband Vic), and his brother Paul Zweiacker, as well as nieces and nephews too numerous to list but not forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Anna Zweiacker.

Loran’s life will be celebrated Friday,10:00 A.M. January 25, 2019 at the First Christian Church in Pawnee with Pastor John Wackler of the Zion Lutheran Church in Stillwater officiating. He will be laid to rest in Nash, Oklahoma.
