New Home Cemetery


Celebration of Life for Bessie W. Logsdon Shriver, 85, of Enid, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2017, in the Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, with Jarod Johnson and John Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the New Home Cemetery, Nash, Okla. The family will receive friends from 6-7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Bess was born Nov. 20, 1931, in Nash, Okla., the daughter of LeeRoy and Sarah Miller Shriver, and passed away Feb. 24, 2017. She attended Nash schools, graduating with honors. Bess was united in marriage to Ocie A. Shriver on Nov. 1, 1952, in Nash, Okla., and followed him during his tour of military service in the medical corps. He preceded her in death in 1997. She was employed by civil service in the dental clinic as a clerk typist in Camp Polk, La., and then transferred to a helicopter station in Fort Riley, Kan. She was employed by Southwestern Bell and St. Mary's Hospital as a surgery instrument technician for over 25 years. She was a member of the Church of Christ, fervently serving her Lord.

She is survived by two sons, Roy Shriver and wife Rose of Enid, and David Shriver and wife Cammy of Yukon, son, Bruce Johnson of Enid; nine grandchildren, Carrie Russell and husband John, Brian Shriver, Benton Shriver and wife Sarah, Jarod Johnson and wife wife Melissa, Adam Shriver and wife Candice, Jeffery Shriver, Caleb Shriver and wife Michelle, Ashley Nichols and husband Michael, Crystal Thomas and husband Brandon; great-grandchildren, Josiah and Isaiah Russell, Bella and Bowen Johnson, Braden, Jordan and Aubri Thomas, Ryan, Zachary and Peyton Shriver, Violet and Liam Shriver, and Sarah Shriver.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Lyndie Johnson, three brothers and two sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to OMRF, arthritis division, with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
