Joseph Dene Roberts

New Home Cemetery

Joseph "Dene" Roberts went to be with the Lord on May 31, 2017 at the age of 64. Dene was born in Enid, Oklahoma on January 31, 1953 to his parents Joseph and Bonnie Roberts. Dene always loved the outdoors and cherished his time on the family farm in Nash, where he has chosen to be interred.

After graduation from Nash High School, Dene heard the call of service to his country joining the Navy and serving for 4 years where he made many life long friends. He was a dreamer and a dabbler. He attended school to become a butcher, he helped his dad start up a flasher company in Amarillo, Texas, he invested in oil wells and drove trucks-both long distance and short. He loved inventing and thinking up ways to help his kids practice batting or football. Dene loved a lot of things in his life, the outdoors, sprint cars, grilling burgers, a great cup of coffee or even a bad one for that matter, but nothing matched the love he had for his wife, Ellen, whom he married in November of 1984, and their four children.

His grandchildren were his pride and joy, he loved laughing with them (and at them). Watching them grow provided endless hours of entertainment. Dene is now reunited with his parents Joseph and Bonnie Roberts; I am sure they are sitting around and sharing stories over a cup of coffee (or two).

Dene is survived in death by his wife Ellen whom he loved with all his heart. He is also survived by his children and grandchildren whom he would gladly share stories about with any prospective friend he met in any check out line: Kaley Broome (husband Joseph, children Mason, Jolie, Blake, and Hattie); Cuyler "Ky" Caldwell (wife Brooke, children Allie and Ava), Jackie Roberts and Jeffrey Roberts. Dene is also survived by his older brother Doyle and his wife Ruth Roberts and younger sister Becky and her husband Richard Beachboard; and many in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.

Everyone who knew Dene remembers him as a man who loved to hear and tell good stories and who loved to laugh. Dene will be missed!

Dene's life will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, June 24, 2017, at the First Baptist Church in Nash. Lunch follows - all are welcome. If you would like, please bring a dish to share.

The interment will precede at 10 a.m. and take place at the Nash New Home Cemetery.

In Dene's memory, donations may be made to Celebrate Recovery or any charity that seeks to spread the Good News of Dene's good friend, Jesus. New Hope Assembly, *Celebrate Recovery, c/o Mike DeLozier, 110 west 58th St. South, Muskogee, OK 74403.
