The funeral service for Lane Tucker Hern, 5, Medford, is 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at First Baptist Church, Medford, with Pastor Les Washnock officiating. Prayers and interment follow in Fairview Cemetery, west of Medford, under the guidance of Amy Stittsworth Funeral Service. Visitation with family is 6-8 p.m. today, Oct. 19, 2016, at Stittsworth Funeral Service, 117 E. Cherokee, Medford.

Lane "Buttercup" Tucker Hern was born Oct. 15, 2010, to Maxine and Jessie Hern. He gained his heavenly wings Oct. 11, 2016. Lane was grooming himself to be a cowboy. He loved farming, ranching and fishing. He loved to sing any country song that happened to come on the radio. He loved to pick sunflowers for his Momma so he could trade them for kisses.

He loved spraying with Dad. He loved riding his bike with his brother Jr. He loved T-ball, combines, rocks, Legos, and his potions. He could always be found with a grin or a funny face to make you smile or take a selfie.

Lane is survived by his parents, Maxine and Jessie Hern, of the home; brothers, Jessie Jr. of the home, and Colten of Jet; maternal grandparents, Darryl and Kathy Duerden, Enid; paternal grandfather, Doug Hern, Enid; maternal great-grandmother, Ann Winters, Enid; Aunt Tonya and Jason Johnson, Ponca City; Aunt Christina Sparks, Owasso; Uncle Jeffrey Sparks and wife, Tahlequah; Uncle Chad Hern, Medford; Aunt Brandi Duggan, Moore; Uncle Kirk "Turkey" and Janell Duerden, Enid; Uncle John and Brandi Sutton, Enid; Uncle Scott and Theresa Duerden, Altus; numerous cousins, family, and friends.

Lane was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Frank and Maxine Rust; and Darvin and Lila Hern; and great-grandpa George Duerden.

Family has requested memorials be made directly to Furever Friends.
