NOVY Funeral services for Charles Novy were held Monday afternoon, September 5 at the First Baptist Church with the pastor Rev Jim Robertson officiating. Casket bearers were: Art McVey, Harry Dodson, Lee Fowler, Chick Griffith, Donald Brown and Paul DeBoard. Music was furnished by Mrs Dale Henricks, Mrs Jim Robertson, Mrs Donald Lair and Mrs C. E. Warburton who sang Beautiful Garden of Prayer, Beyond the Sunset, and Rock of Ages.: Accompanied by Mrs. Donald Brown. Mr. Novy was born January 20, 1873 in Springfield, Mo. and passed away at his home in Verden Saturday September 3 at the age of 87 yrs. Mr Novy moved to Verden in 1915 where he had lived until the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Tillie Novy and one son, William Novy of Verden, seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Interment was in Verden Cemetery with Hansens Funeral Home in charge. |
© The Washita Valley Herald Chickasha, Oklhoma Thursday, March 8, 1962 January 24, 1877 ~ February 26, 1962 SERVICES CONDUCTED FOR MRS TILLIE NOVY Funeral services for Mrs Tillie Novy were held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in the Verden First Baptist Church, Rev. Sam Anderson officiating. A quartet, composed of Mrs A. W. Finley, Mrs Dale Henricks, Miss Linda West and Miss Mary McVey, sang Beautiful Isle, Beyond the Sunset and The Old Rugged Cross. They were accompanied by Mrs Don Brown. Pallbearers were Paul DeBoard, Lee Fowler, Don Brown, Dank Pitts, Phelan Mobbs and Kenneth West. Interment was in Verden Cemetery under the direction of Hansens Funeral Home. Mrs. Novy was born January 24, 1877 near Austin, Texas, and died February 26 at the home of her son. She was married to Charles Novy at Ennis, Texas, October 27,1896. They moved to Hobart in 1902 and to Verden in 1915. Mr Novy preceded her in death September 3, 1960. Survivors are a son, William of Verden; seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren, and two sisters, Mrs Helen Peper of Ennis, Texas, and Mrs Rosie Bouska of San Angelo, Texas. |
© The Chickasha Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Thursday, November 2, 1967 August 4, 1936 ~ October 25, 1967 FUNERAL SERVICES FOR VIRGIL RAY NOVY Virgil Ray Novy, 31, died in Salt Lake City, Utah, on Wednesday, October 25th. He was born August 4, 1936 in Chickasha. Survivors include his parents, Mr and Mrs William Novy of Verden, one son, Russel Lynn Novy of Verden; three sisters, Mrs Mary Frances Wright of Fort Smith, Arkansas; Mrs Willie Mae Nochols, of Grand Blanc, Michigan; and Mrs Charlotte Shubert of Commerce, Georgia; one brother, Charles Novy of Woodward, Oklahoma; and two half sisters, Mrs Mildrad Nigh of Oklahoma City; and Mrs Billie Jean Shore of Lawton. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church of Verden, with Rev Paul Hampton, pastor, officiating, assisted by Rev Sam Anderson of Cashe, at 2:30 p.m. October 29. He was laid to rest in the Verden Cemetery. Casket bearers were Sidney Smith, Earl Venable, Charles Phelps, Ira Linn, Donald Henry and Ray Kortemeier. Music, Beyond The Sunset,In The Garden and Home Over There was rendered by Mrs Harry Dodson, Mrs W. A. Finley, Mrs Max Upchurch and Mrs Clifford Nath, with Mrs Donald D. Brown at the piano. Services were by Hansen Funeral Home of Verden, Oklahoma. |
