Noel, 79, funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Monday in the United Methodist Church in Verden with Rev A. B. Hickman officiating. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Amos of the home; one daughter, Mrs Judy Hamilton of Verden; one son, David Noel of the U. S. Army; two brothers, Marvin Lamb of Whittier, Calif., and Ernest Lamb of Enid; two sisters, Mrs Florence Beene of Verden and Mrs Roberta David of Anadarko. |

© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma Tuesday, June 16, 2009 November 18, 1947 ~ June 14, 2009 David Glen Noel, a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died on June 14, 2009 at the age of 61. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the Verden First Baptist Church. He was born on November 18, 1947, in Richmond, California and was raised by his grandparents, Amos and Dalton Noel, who adopted him at the age of 11. He graduated from Verden High School in 1966, then served in the U.S. Army during the Viet Nam War from 1967-1969. While on leave, he married Patricia Brown on June 21, 1968 in Oklahoma City. After being discharged, he and his wife moved to Oklahoma City. On July 4, 1975 their daughter, Nicolee Gayle was born. While in Oklahoma City, he was a salesman of various business machines. He later sold automotive diagnostic computers for Sun Electric Company which merged with Snap-On Tools where he retired. He was most recently the maintenance director for Grace Living Center in Chickasha. David was a Deacon of First Baptist Church of Verden, a City Council Member of the town of Verden, and he served on several other boards and committees for his church and the community. He was preceded in death by his grandparents and his sister, Judith Ann Noel. Survivors include: Loving Wife: Patricia Gayle Noel of the home, Adoring Daughter and husband: Nicolee Gayle McCowen and John of Yukon, Precious Grandchildren: Ethan and Erin McCowen of Yukon, Sister-in-law and husband: Garlaine Kelly and Emmett of Conroe, TX, and other loving family. The family will receive friends at McRay Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery with the deacons of the First Baptist Church being honored as pall bearers. Memorial contributions may be made to the Verden First Baptist Church Family Life Center Building Fund. Service will be under the direction of McRay Funeral Home. |
