© The Anadarko Daily News Anadarko, Oklahoma December 17, 1985 June 9, 1908 ~ February 1, 1932 VERDEN ~ Services for Annie Ethel Moran, 77, were to be held at 1:30 p.m. today at the Hansen-Binyon Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ed Whitley officiating. Burial was to be held in the Verden Cemetery. Mrs. Moran was born June 9, 1908, west of Verden. She died Saturday in Chickasha. She lived in Verden all her life and married Raymond Moran February 1, 1932 in Chickasha. She was a member of the Christian Church in Verden. She was preceded in death by one sister, two daughters and a grandson. Survivors include her husband of the home; two sons, Joner of Verden and Jimmy Kishen of California, seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. |
© The Verden News Verden, Oklahoma April 9, 1943 Maech 6, 1943 ~ April 2, 1943 Funeral services were conducted at two o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Christian church by Rev. E. L. Spann, pastor of the Methodist church for Idell Anett Moran. Music was furnished by Mr. J. N. Kern and Mrs. F. G. Caldwell, accompanied by Mrs. F. G. Ransbarger. Songs were "Have Thine Own Way Lord," "Jewels," and "Ivory Palaces." Interment was made in the Verden cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge. Idell Anett was killed instantly Friday morning about ten o'clock when she was accidentally run over by her father as he was backing the car out of the driveway at their home. Surviving members of the family are her parents, Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Moran, one sister, Julia Kathelene, and a grandmother, Mrs. Jessie Moran of Sulphur. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma August 18, 2003 September 13, 1944 ~ August 17, 2003 Graveside service for Raymond William "Joner" Moran, Jr., age 58, of Verden, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 19, 2003, in the Verden Cemetery. Elder Malcolm Broan and Elder Terry Barbosa will officiate. Joner was born the son of Raymond William Moran, Sr., and Annie E. Anderson Moran on September 13, 1944. He died August 17, 2003, in Norman. Joner grew up in Verden, where he attended school until his senior year. At that time, he transferred to Anadarko and graduated from Anadarko High School. He married Janie Motley on July 17, 1975, in Anadarko, and lived the rest of his life in Verden. For several years, he owned and operated Joner's Garage. In 1977, Joner began work for the City of Verden in the water department and eventually became superintendent. Joner worked for the City of Verden for twenty-five years. Joner attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Kathleen Harris and Idale Moran, nephew, Timothy Harris, and grandson, Nathan Balentine. Survivors include: wife, Janie Moran of the home; daughter, Tammy Eakins of Mena, Arkansas; son, Schyler Moran of Oklahoma City; son, Eugene Balentine of Verden; son, Kenneth Moran of Verden; son, Michael Vaquera of Lawton; son, David Holder of Verden; stepson, Steven Balentine of Texas; special friend, Helen Holder of Verden; fourteen grandchildren. Services are under the direction of the McRay's Verden Funeral Home. |
