Funeral service for Juanita Jean Miller, age 80 of Verden, Oklahoma will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 4, 2016 in the Verden First Baptist Church. Rev. Troy Taylor will officiate.

Juanita Jean Miller was born on July 6, 1935 to Walter and Beulah Cox Unruh near Verden, Oklahoma.

She went to be with Jesus on January 31, 2016 at her home in Clinton, Oklahoma with her loving family surrounding her. She attended Sandlin School in her early years and then went to Verden Schools where she graduated in 1953.

She married her high school sweetheart Chris Miller on September 3, 1955 and raised three children. Some of the endeavors of her early life were working for the Boy Scout office in Chickasha, Pool Mortgage Company and the Wildlife Department at Lake Burtschi. She loved teaching Sunday School at First Baptist Church in Verden, where she also enjoyed playing the organ. After her children were gone from home she started her own drapery and custom made bedding business.

They lived on a farm north of Verden until 1994 and then traveled with her husband Chris, to various construction sites in the state of Oklahoma. During this time she started taking oil painting classes and found her hidden talent of becoming a wonderful artist. She loved painting portraits of each of her seven grandchildren, and nature sceneries which her family proudly displays in their homes.

Her cooking talents was very popular with her grandchildren who continuously requested her famous peas and potatoes which she adored making for them when they came to visit. She had an exquisite eye for fashion and interior design. She was one of the most talented people to have lived. She could not only do it all, but excel at everything she laid her hands on. Everyone always valued her opinion in all areas of life.

She is survived by her husband Chris, daughter Diane and Doug Butler, of Anadarko, son Keith and Cathy Miller of Clinton, and son Kent and Dana Miller of Purcell. Eight grandchildren, Joe Hackney, Chickasha, Chris Miller, Clinton, Ok, Courtney Slover,Tuttle, OK, Whitney Miller, Mustang, OK, Ashley Harrison, Gracemont, OK, Kaleb Miller Clinton, OK, Kyleigh Miller, Mustang OK and Mason Agee of Purcell. Four great grandsons, Cooper Hackney, Rylend and Braylin Slover, and Langston Miller. sisters, Opal Layman and Dennis Beanland of Ridgedale, MO, Verda and Don Winn, Verden, and Lauri and Jackson McLane of Anadarko, OK, brother-in-law, Bob Miller and Pauline of Sulphur, OK, numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Walter and Beulah Unruh, and sister Walley Coy.

Pallbearers: Joe Hackney, Chris Miller, Kaleb Miller, Matt Slover, Mark Layman and Darre

Interment will be in the Verden Cemetery. Service is under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.
