Janice Fay Buchanan McMullen
June 3, 1961 ~ August 29, 2017


Janice Fay [Buchanan] McMullen was born on June 3, 1961 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Lewis Ray Buchanan and Faybelle [Blevins] Buchanan. She died August 29, 2017 at her home in Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Janice grew up in Verden, Oklahoma and graduated from Verden High School. On December 10, 1981, Janice married Howard “Buddy” McMullen in Chickasha. They had three children and 35 years together.

She spent her lifetime as a homemaker, raising her children. Janice enjoyed watching TV and she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Janice was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Viola Blevins and her father, Lewis Buchanan.

Survivors include her husband, Buddy, of the home; son, Tyler McMullen; daughters and sons-in-law, Latisha and Laquan Burnett of Chickasha and Kyndra and Bryan Cason of Tuttle; mother, Fay Buchanan of Verden; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Gina Buchanan; brother, Robert Buchanan; sister, Jackie Ray; grandchildren, Miranda Cason, Hailie Burnett, Alyssa Burnett, and Winter, Burnett; and other extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 1, 2017 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel. Following the services, Janice's family has chosen cremation with interment in Verden Cemetery.
