Thomas Albert Kinsey
ugust 5, 1883 ~ October 28, 1949


Funeral services for T. A. Kinsey of Pocasset were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Verden. Rev C. W Taylor, officiating, assisted by Rev Garland Anderson.

A quartet composed of Miss Florence Lamb, Mrs R. E. Flood, Mrs C. W. Hamill and Mrs Floyd Adkisson, sang these selections, "Abid With Me," "Jesus Savior Pilot Me," and "Sweet Hour of Prayer."

Mrs Donald Brown played the accompaniment.

Casket bearers were: R. H. Brown, Lee Fowler, Frank Riede, Paul M. DeBoard, Floyd Seals and J. M. Thrasher.

Internment was in the Verden Cemetery.

Thomas Albert Kinsey was born August 5, 1882 in Grayson county Texas and died at 9:15 p.m. Friday, October 28 in an Oklahoma City hospital at the age of 67 years, two months, and 23 days. He had been a resident of Pocasset and Verden for 24 years. He was engaged in farming until he retired two years ago. He lived at Sulphur before coming here. He was a member of the Verden Baptist Church.

Survivors including his wife, Mrs Lucy Kinsey, of Pocasset; one daughter, Mrs Clarence Sullivan; four sons, James Kinsey and Boyd Kinsey of Pocasset, Tom Kinsey of the Dutton community and Marvin Kinsey of Cogar; 20 grandchildren and two great grandchildren

Mrs Tom Kenzie, who had been ill several months died Monday in a Chickasha hospital.

The funeral services were held here at the Methodist church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock with the local pastor Rev LeRoy Simmons officiating.

The choir composed of a woman's quartet, Mesdames Adkisson, Whitlely, Caldwell and MaGuire saing "In The Garden," "It Is Well With My Soul" and "Face to Face" accompanies by Mrs Simmons.

Surviving members are her husband and 4 small children and her mother, Mrs Emmons.

Interment was made in the Verden Cemetery.

Bertha Fern [Rumley] Kinsey
February 16, 1924 ~ July 7, 1986


Services for Bertha Fern Kinsey, 62, of Chickasha will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of the Brown-Binyon Funeral Home with the Rev Roger Willis, pastor of the Spring Creek Baptist Church of Dutton, officiating and the Rev Martin Willis of Verden assisting.

Kinsey was born February 16, 1924 near Dutton and died Monday in the Anadarko Municipal Hospital.

She lived in the Dutton area until 1948 when she moved east of Chickasha near Friend and Amber.

She married Boyd Kinsey on July 30, 1948 in Gainesville. He died on April 1, 1974.

She was also preceded in death by her father.

Survivors include four sons, Floyd, Jimmy, Jeffrey and Jerry, all of Chickasha; four daughters, Dorothy Voegeli, Fay Hall and Darlene Kinsey, all of Chickasha, and Ada Stewart of Ninnekah; her mother Marie Rumley of Dutton; two brothers, Lester Rumley of Verden and Johnny Rumley of Dutton; three sisters, Mattie Smith of Geary, Donnie Rumley of Dutton and Betty Owings of Yukon, and 10 grandchildren.

Burial will be in the Verden Cemetery.

Mable Lou [Hall] Kinsey
July 17, 1928 ~ November 4, 2024


A funeral service for Mable Lou [Hall] Kinsey, 96, of Moore, will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Mable Lou [Hall] Kinsey was born July 17, 1928 in Apperson, Oklahoma to Lloyd James Hall and Juanita T. [Williams] Hall. She passed from this life on Monday, November 4, 2024 in Moore, Oklahoma.

Mable grew up in the Anadarko/Gracemont area and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1947. She went on to get a degree in nursing at the NW Texas School of Nursing.

On June 8, 1949, she married James Dee Kinsey in Wichita Falls, Texas and they shared 54 years together until his passing in 2003.

Mable and J. D. moved all over the Western states for the first six years of their life together, then they settled in Pampa, Texas for a time. They moved to Perryton, Texas for nine years before moving back to Pampa.

Mable worked as a nurse in many of the places they lived. She retired in 1988 and they moved back to Chickasha to be close to their grandchildren.

She was a strong woman of faith and attended Pampa Bible Church and for the last 20 years of her life, she enjoyed the ministry of Shepherd Chapel.

Her life revolved around her faith and nursing. She also liked to watch the big band shows, such as The Lawrence Welk Show and others. She was a leader and very straightforward. Her home always had coffee, ice cream and food. She would make sure anyone that came over was fed. She enjoyed listening to her daughter Annita read to her.

She was preceded in death by both parents; her in-laws James Luther and Eva Dee Kinsey; her husband J. D. Kinsey; brother and sister-in-law Freddie and Elsie Hall; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Wanda and Donald Shadoan; brothers-in-law Willie Joe Kinsey and Albert Kinsey; and niece Donna Shadoan.

Loved ones left to remember her are her daughters Jehree Crawford of Chickasha, Eva Dee Saffer and husband Dave of Moore, and Annita Sharp of Moore; grandchildren Larry James Crawford, Johnathan Crawford, Dawn Crawford, Sonya Crawford, and Kassandre Kinsey Sharp; great-grandchildren Kianna, Kinsey, Krystal, and Grace Lou; sisters-in-law Pat Kinsey and Colline Kinsey; nephews Freddie Hall, Jr., Randy Hall, Roger Hall, Curtis Kinsey and Brent Kinsey; and other extended family.

Viewing for Mable will be held Tuesday November 5, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home, 804 W. Utah Ave., Chickasha, Oklahoma.

Interment will be in Verden Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.

Albert Thomas Kinsey
August 31, 1930 ~ December 6, 2022


Funeral services for Albert T. Kinsey, 92, will be held Friday, December 9, 2022 at 2 p.m. at Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Chickasha, Oklahoma. Burial will follow in Verden Cemetery in Verden, Oklahoma under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. Visitation will be held December 8, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Johnson Funeral Home.

He passed away December 6, 2022 in Childress.

Albert was born August 31, 1930 in Cooperton, Oklahoma to James Luther Kinsey and Eva Dee Emmons Kinsey. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952-54 and then worked for Shell Oil Company for 35 years. During his last 10 years, he was promoted to Division Operator. He served in the Rocky Mountain area. His work took him to all of the Rocky Mountain states.

He married Colline Kinsey while working in Dumas, Texas. They lived and traveled to most of the Rocky Mountain area. They were married for 62 years.Together they traveled to Canada and spent some time in Houston and traveled to that area of Texas. He was a member of the Rotary Club in Oklahoma.

After retirement, they moved to Childress where he raised cattle. He was active in Childress, serving on the Board of Directors for Childress Meals on Wheels and worked on the committee and installed many of the lighted displays for Christmas in the Park. He was also active in the Childress Methodist Church.

His philosophy was "work, work, work" and "anything worth doing should be done well." He was busy all of the time.

His family included sisters-in-law Mable Kinsey of Moore, Oklahoma, Pat Kinsey of Oklahoma City and Martha Burrus and husband, Jack, of Childress and many nieces and nephews.

Jessie Floyd Kinsey
1937 ~ October 21, 1940


The small son, Jessie Floyd Kinsey of Mr and Mrs John T. Kinsey died at their home at 500 a. m. October 21, 1940. The child was 3 years and 11 months old.

The funeral was conducted at the Methodist church, Tuesday with the paster, Rev LeRoy Simmons officiating.

Surviving members are his parents, one sister, Beulah Mae, two brothers, John Thomas and Raymond and grandparents, Mr and Mrs T. A. Kinsey, Mr and Mrs J. B. Ratslaff of Kansas.

The burial was in the Verden Cemetery.

Boyd Leon Kinsey
January 13, 1943 ~ December 31, 1943


Funeral services for Boyd Leon Kinsey, infant son of Mr. and Mrs J. T. Kinsey, were conducted at 2:30 p. m. Saturday at the Hansen Funeral Home with Rev E. L. Spann officiating. Interment was in the Verden Cemetery with Hansen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Music for the service was furnished by Mrs Mildred Fleming who sang "Precious Jewels" and "Abide With Me" with piano accompaniment by Miss Dorothy Lokey.

Boyd Leon was born January 13, 1943 and passed away December 31 at the age of eleven months and eighteen days. He had suffered only a few days with pneumonia and died enroute to the University Hospital at Oklahoma City. He leaves to mourn his departure his parents, one sister, Beulah, and three brothers, John Thomas Jr, Raymond and a twin, Lloyd Don.

Graveside services for Floyd E. Kinsey, 53, of Chickasha, will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Verden Cemetery with Sister Alice Wendling officiating.
Floyd E. Kinsey was born February 2, 1956 in Chickasha, the son of Boyd E. Kinsey and Bertha Fern Rumley Kinsey.

He died May 14, 2009 in Chickasha.

Floyd worked for several farmers in the surrounding areas, was an avid fisherman and enjoyed helping others.

He was preceded in death by his parents.Survivors include his wife Vickie Kinsey, step-son Jason Camp, four sisters; Dorothy and Jim Voegeli of Seiling, Fay and Butch Hall of Chickasha, Ada and Jim Stewart of Ninnekah, and Darlene Kinsey of Tulsa, three brothers; Jimmy Dale Kinsey of Amber, Jeffery and Malinda Kinsey of Tuttle and Jerry Kinsey of Norge.

Services are under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
