She died on October 30, 2018 at her home in Verden, OK. Vivian grew up in the Anadarko area and married Cecil "Red" Hughes on June 10, 1939. With this union came five children – sons Donnie of Amber, Jim and wife Marty of Tuttle, Bill and wife Brenda Jo of Amber; daughters – Brenda Henry of Verden and Sandy and husband Bruce Drummond of Verden. Vivian grew up in hard times, learning at a young age what hard work was. She lived through the Dust Bowl days picking cotton. In 1963 they sold the dairy and moved to Verden where she worked at the Dairy Superb and Mary’s Grocery before starting Vivian’s Café in 1971. The café became her life. She was a wonderful cook and this was her passion for 47 years. Even at 97 years of age she still drove up to the café every day to get that silverware rolled and to boss Sandy. Vivian loved her customers! Vivian was preceded in death by her husband; her parents and her sister, Maxine Harris. Vivian is survived by her sons Donnie Hughes, Jimmie Hughes and Billy Hughes; her daughters Brenda Henry and Sandra Wilson Drummond; her brother Glen and wife Virginia Trogdon; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and sisters-in-law Mary Lee Spurlin, Lois Harrison and Emma Jean Hughes.
