Rev P. F. HARMAN SERVICES HELD MONDAY

Funeral services for Rev P. F. Harman were conducted Monday, May 4, at 2:30 p.m. at the First Baptist Church. Rev Kenneth Elkins, pastor, officiated, assisted by Rev A. C. Nance, Bridgeport; Rev Walter Cummins, Anadarko; and Rev C. W. Taylor, Verden.

Burial was in the Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge.

Music was rendered by Mr and Mrs Floyd Adkisson and Mr and Mrs L. E. Seago who sang Jesus Savior Pilot Me, No Night There and God Be With You. Mrs Donald Brown was pianist.

Casket bearers were Jerry Brown and Richard Brown, Jr, great grandsons of Rev Harman, and Debs Paterson, Lee Fowler, Harry Dodson and Floyd Henricks.



Peter Frank Harman was born in Whitley County, Kentucky, April 30, 1866 and passed away at his home in Verden, Oklahoma, May 2, 1953 at the age of 87 years and two days.

He was united in marriage to Miss Lou Nellie Loback, March 21, 1889 at Birmingham, Missouri, and to this union was born nine children, three having preceded him in death. They moved to Oklahoma in 1900 and have lived in Verden and vicinity until the time of his death. The couple observed their 64th wedding anniversary recently.

He was ordained a Baptist minister at the age of 19 years and has faithfully served his Lord.

He was association missionary in the Caddo association for 16 ½ years. He was also at Chickasaw Association and at Mullins, Salt Fork Valley association. He was known to have helped organize and build many churches in this association, consisting now of 23 churches.

Those left to mourn his departure are his wife, Mrs Nellie Harman, Verden, three daughters, Mrs R. H. Brown, Verden; Mrs C. R. Ruse, Los Alamos, New Mexico and Mrs Bee Walker, Elk City, Oklahoma; three sons, Clarence M., Fresno, California; Paul F. and Howard G. of San Antonio, Texas; eight grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, one brother, Madison Harman of Filer, Idaho, also a host of other relatives and friends.

Among the out of two relatives and friends who attended the funeral of Rev P. F. Harman, other than the immediate family were Mr and Mrs W. G. Smith, Mr and Mrs John Marshall, Mr and Mrs H. D. Boaher, Mrs Virgle Hill, Mr and Mrs John Alldredge, Mrs A. Y. Britton, Mrs Minnie Biggs, Raymond Parman, Wayne Woodman and Mr and Mrs Raymond Knapp, all of Elk City; Mr and Mrs H. D. Robinson, Mr and Mrs Artie Walker and Mr and Mrs T. C. McDonald of Carter, Okla; Mrs Dean Abernathy, Sweetwater, Okla.; Mr and Mrs Howard Moore, Erick, Okla.; Mrs Fred Stroupe, Crescent, Okla.; Mr and Mrs Bill Ruse, Mr and Mrs O. K. Ruse, Mr and Mrs Chauncey Goetting, Mr and Mrs Harry Hill, Mrs Dophia Hilton, Mrs Lula Ricker and J. B. Mills, Chickasha; Mrs W. M. Utzman, Midwest City; Mrs Esther Tresner, Mrs C. M. Craven, Mrs Lizzie Stone, Mr and Mrs Rash Harman, Oklahoma City; Mr and Mrs Theodore Harman, Guthrie. Mrs Reber, Hydro; Mr and Mrs Kerns Harman, Mr and Mrs Cecil Harmon, Mr and Mrs Fike (?) Harman and Mr and Mrs Puz Harman, Blanchard; Mr and Mrs Otho Haney, Mrs Emma Plott and Rev Patton, Anadarko; Mrs Zera Brown and Mrs Will Brown, Okarche and Mrs John Brown, Minco.

Nellie Louise "Lou" [Loback] Harmon

HARMON SERVICES HELD

Funeral services were held for Mrs P. F. Harmon Saturday, December 12 at 2:30 p.m. in the First Baptist Church. Rev Sam Anderson, pastor, officiated and was assisted by Rev W. B. Cummings of Anadarko.

Mrs Dale Hendrick, Mrs Aubrey Finley, Mrs Bill Dyer, and Mrs Max Upchurch, accompanied by Mrs Don Brown at the piano, sang "I Won't Haveto cross Jordon Alone," and "In the Garden."

Pallbearers were Arthur McVey, Paul DeBoard, Debs Patterson, Aubrey Finley, Donald Lair, and V. E. Griffith. Honorary bearers were John Kern, Kirby Whitley, C. A. Niday, Floyd Hendricks, Ott Dirickson, and Harry Dodson.

Interment was in the Verden Cemetery under the direction of Hansen Funeral Home.

Nellie Louise Loback was born September 1, 1871 in Atchison, Kan. She was married to Peter Frank Harmon in 1889 in Burlington, Mo. They moved to Cottonwood Grove [Verden] in 1901 where the Rev Harmon was a Baptist Mission preacher.

They were charter members of the First Baptist Church in Verden. The Rev Harmom died May 2, 1953. Mrs Harmon passed away December 9, 1964 in the Anadarko Hospital.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs Mary Elizabeth Brown of Verden and Mrs Zelma L. Ruse of Los Alamos, N.M.; three sons, Paul Harmon of San Antonio, Texas, Clarence Harmon of Fresno, Calif., and Howard Harmon of Los Angeles, Calif., eight grandchildren, 11 great great grandchildren; and four great great grandchildren.

I. D. HARMON SERVICES HELD MAY 5TH

Funeral service for Mr I. D. Harmon was held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 25, at the First Baptist Church, Verden, with Rev Harold Watson, pastor, officiating.

Interment was in Verden Cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Music was furnished by Mrs Donald Brown, Mrs Harry Dodson, Mrs C. W. Hamill and Mrs J. N. Kern. Mrs Ed Nelson was pianist, Songs rendered were "Asleep In Jesus," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "Beyond the Sunset."

Casket bearers were Art McVey, Babe Pullen, Ed Adkisson, Lee Fowler, Earl Ball and E. E. Hinkle.

Isum Derrell Harmon, Uncle Dee as he was affectionately called, was born April 7, 1874 in Cook County, Texas and passed away at his home in Verden on May 24, 1956, at the age of 82 years, one month and 17 days.

He was united in marriage to Ida Taylor at Ardmore, Oklahoma in 1900, and to this union eight children were born, five boys and three girls.

He moved to Verden in 1927. He married Mrs Ada Reed on February 23, 1952.

Survivors include his wife, Ada, of the home, two sons, C. E. Harmon of Mansfield, Arkansas and A. D. Harmon of Compton, Calif.; one daughter, Mrs Doris Kardaras of Fort Worth, Texas; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, including Mrs J. W. Hullett of Verden.

PETER P. HARMON SERVICES HELD SUNDAY

Funeral services for Pete Harmon were conducted Sunday afternoon at the First Baptist Church with Rev A. C. Nance, Anadarko, officiating and assisted by Rev W. O. Cooley and Rev C. W. Taylor, Verden.

Interment was in the Verden cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge.

Music for the service was furnished by Mrs I. H. Bilbrey, Mrs J. N. Kern, L. E. Perkins and F. G. Ransbarger who sang "God Will Take Care of You," "Let The Lower Lights Be burning" and "Beautiful Isle" with Mrs Ivy Horn playing the Piano accompaniment. R. Lewis Hancock of Anadarko sang, "Will The Circle Be Unbroken," with piano accompaniment by Mrs Bilbrey.

Pallbearers were: Ralph Wolfenberger of Anadarko, C. W. Hamill, Kirby Whitley, J. N. Kern, Martin Henry and Ott Dirikson.

Peter P. Harmon was born February 21, 1900 in Parkville, Missouri and died March 24, 1945 in a hospital at Agnew, California at the age of 45 years 1 month and three days.

He came to Verden with his parents in 1902 and grew to manhood here. For the past several years he has made his home to California.

Surviving members of the family include his wife of Salinas, California; his parents, Rev and Mrs P. F. Harmon, Verden; three sisters, Mrs R. H. Brown, Verden, Mrs C. R. Ruse, Santa Fe, New Mexico, and Mrs B. Walker, Elk City; and three brothers, H. D. Harmon, Detroit, Michigan, C. M. Harman (sic), Fresno, California, and Paul Harmon, who is with the armed forces in Italy.

LAST RITES HELD FOR MISS GENEVA HARMON SATURDAY

Funeral services for Miss Geneva Harmon were conducted at the First Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. Friday, November 24, with Rev C. C. Nance, Oklahoma City officiating, assisted by Rev Roy Nance, Oklahoma City, Rev A. C. Nance, Anadarko, and Rev C. W. Taylor, Verden.

Music for the service was furnished by Mrs Donald Brown and Mrs I. H. Bilbrey, who sang "Rock of Ages." "Asleep in Jesus," "He Lives on High" and "Sweet Bye and Bye." Mrs Joy Horn planed the piano accompaniment.

Pallbearers were Robert Kern, Jerry Brown, Louis Nueriberger and Richard Brown Jr Interment was made in the Verden cemetery with the Hansen Funeral Home in charge.

Miss Harman was born September 30, 1916, and died November 22, 1944, at her home at the age of 28 years, one month, and 21 days. She made her home here and in Anadarko all of her life.

Surviving members of the family include her parents, Rev and Mrs P. F. Harman. Verden, three sisters, Mrs Betty Brown, Verden, Mrs Velma Ruse, Santa Fe, New Mexico and Mrs Gladys Walker, Elk City; four brothers, Pete Harman, Salinas, Calif., Clarence Harman, Fresno, California, PFC Paul Harman, U S Army, stationed in Italy and Howard Harman, San Francisco, Calif.
