Chickasha, Oklahoma April 1917 January 27, 1947 ~ April 21, 1917 Graveside services for Jack “Butch” Hall, 70, of Chickasha, will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Verden Cemetery with Danny Carlisle officiating. Butch was born to William “Bill” Hall and Erma Rose on January 27, 1947 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of eight children. Butch attended school at Middleberg, Friend and Chickasha schools. He left early on Fridays to drive his dad’s hay truck, which was his real passion. Butch joined the United States Navy in 1964 as a Radarman and served a tour of duty in Vietnam. Butch was a life-long truck driver. He drove for Frozen Foods out of Dallas, Lee Way, Braums, Hoffman and also for John Christner for 14 years. Butch received many driver of the year awards during his career. Butch and Fay met after he was discharged from the Navy in 1968. They were introduced by his mother Erma, who was trying to get them together. Butch and Fay were married on August 24, 1968 in Chickasha, Oklahoma. To this union, two sons Steven Wayne and Charles Bryan were born. The last few years Butch struggled with his illness but tried to stay strong. He liked his visits from Buddy and talk about trucking stories. His friend Jeff would call on him from the truck while he was out on the road. Butch was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Erma, brothers Ernie, Don, Alvin, Bill and Bob, and long-time running buddy Charles Perkins. Survivors include his wife Fay of the home; sons Steve Hall and Bryan Hall and wife Jenni; four grandchildren Maddison Brawner and husband Ricky, Ayden and Marlee; two great childchildren Ricky and Brendan; sisters Sylvia Chaney of Chickasha, Betty Hensley of Bridge Creek; sister-in-laws Jo Ann Hall of Corsicana, Texas and Florence Hall of Middleberg, Oklahoma; other extended family and friends. Services will be under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
