Steven Lane Howard

Funeral services for Steven Lane Howard, 55, of Ninnekah, will be held at 2:00 p.m., on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, in the Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel.

Steven Lane Howard was born April 13, 1951, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, the son of Arch and Geraldine [Humphrey] Howard. He died September 10, 2006, in Oklahoma City.

Steve grew up in Shawnee, Oklahoma, graduating from Shawnee High School in 1969. He continued his education at Oklahoma State University in Okmulgee, Oklahoma and graduated in 1971, with a Machinist degree.

He joined the United States Navy, serving 4 years before he was "Honorably" discharged.

Steve had previously been employed by Halliburton as a machinist, later being promoted to a purchasing agent. He was later the plant manager for E&S Manufacturing, in Longview, Texas.

On May 14, 1994, in Alex, Oklahoma, Steve married Sue Charlson. They have had 12 wonderful years together.

In 1998, they moved to Chickasha, and Steve started his career with Chickasha Manufacturing, where he was currently the production manager.

He had many hobbies, and enjoyed working with his hands. He loved restoring old cars, gardening, and working in his shop.

He attended Hawkins Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by both parents.

Survivors include wife, Sue Howard, of the home; one daughter, April [Howard] Campbell, of Duncan and husband Chuck; two sons-in-law: Jackie Charlson and friend Donya, and Kevin Charlson and wife Terry, all of Ninnekah; brother, Marc Howard and wife Debby, of Choctaw; sister, Judy McNeer and husband David, of Broken Arrow; five grandchildren: Courtney and Kristen Charlson, Kayla Charlson, Natalee Campbell, and Laycee Taylor; one niece, Carrie NcNeer; and one nephew, Michael McNeer and wife Jodi.

Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home.
