© Sevier Funeral Home Chickasha, Oklahoma January 15, 2022 August 21, 1945 ~ January 9, 2022 Funeral Service will be 3:00 p.m., Saturday, January 15, 2022, at The Christian Center, Chickasha, Oklahoma under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home. Clyde Franklin Bennett, of Ninnekah, OK, passed away on Sunday, January 09, 2022, in Ninnekah, OK at the age of 76. He was born August 21, 1945, in Chickasha, Oklahoma to Benjamin "Bennie" Franklin and Jesse Marie [James] Bennett. Clyde Franklin Bennett born August 21, 1945, in Chickasha was surrounded by his loving family of wife, sons, daughter, and their wives, grandchildren, and spouses, great-grandchildren, brother, sister-in-law, and friends. A devoted citizen of Ninnekah, and part of its history throughout the years. Many of you knew him early on as a scrappy high school boy who started a business with his brother, Richard, under the guidance of his parents, Bennie and Jesse, hauling hay for many farmers across Ninnekah, the County, and State. A tough economy took him and his young family through a "grapes of wrath" experience from Oklahoma to California, where he had a vast array of jobs from fixing radiators to being a draftsman for Southern California Edison and the State of Oklahoma. Most of us know him as a source of knowledge for any question that you may have from how to build, repair, or operate just about anything and I know we will miss asking him those questions or as well hearing the unsolicited advice for the questions we never asked… He operated Clyde's welding for decades, taught many how to weld, and was known as one of the best welders in the area. Dad loved old cars and could tell you ANY detail about them. He also enjoyed cooking, a good fishing spot, and any dessert on offer. However, his biggest pastime was people-watching and he was a professional. But not just people watching for the sake of it he took interest in people who used his gift of giving to bless them when he felt they had need. He often saw needs when others didn't and many of you probably have something, most likely a hat, from him at home. Dad also loved when you prayed over him and showed him the affection of the Father - he would stop everything to absorb the experience. He had his own special relationship with Him, and we all knew it. Devoted to his partner in life, Bonita, or Bonnie as he kindly called her. He loved her for more than 60 years, since when he began to get her name and number at the age of 16, they were married 57 years and 11 months. And he still resides as the major occupant of her heart. He left us, for his other home, on Sunday at 3:00 am, in the presence of his sweetheart holding his hand, and I'm sure with all his other loved ones in mind. The day was cold; there was a strong North wind, and the sky was filled with beautiful colors. Although our hearts are saddened by his absence, we carry on with the peace and comfort from God, knowing that one day we will see him again. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bennie and Jesse [James] Bennett; In-laws, Chester and Pauline Stewart; sister, Ann Marie Bennett; daughter, Bonnie Kay Bennett, sister-in-law, Oneta Bennett. Clyde is survived by his wife, Bonita Bennett of Ninnekah, OK; sons, Tracy Bennett and wife Anna of Montgomery, Texas, Paul Bennett and wife Cynthia of Sulphur, OK; daughter, Kathy Singleton and wife Donna of Ninnekah, OK; 4 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; brother Richard Bennett and wife Betty of Ninnekah, OK; and numerous nieces and nephews.
