Archie "Pete" Allen

Funeral services for Archie B. "Pete" Allen, 80, of Chickasha, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 25, 2008, in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Interment will be in the Ninnekah Cemetery under direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Archie Allen was born May 7, 1927, in Ringling, the son of W.B. and Allie Christina [O'Neil] Allen, and died Thursday, Feb. 21, 2008, in Chickasha.

Mr. Allen was raised in Chickasha and graduated from Chickasha High School. He lived in Denver, Colo., then in El Reno before moving to Chickasha in 1985. He drove his own truck for many years and worked for Transcon as a truck driver for three years.

He served in the Maritime Service and also the U.S. Army. He was a veteran of World War II.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Betty Allen of the home; a daughter, Jeannie Beaty and husband, Alan of El Reno; a son, David Allen and wife, E.J. of Chickasha; sisters, Judy Martin of Chickasha, Willa Dean Allen of Dallas, Texas, and Pauline Baxt of Oklahoma City; a brother, David "Bunt" Allen; six grandchildren, Jeff Davis, Janae Collar and husband, J.L., Kelly Muller and husband, Paul, Annie McLanahan, Daniel McLanahan and Dayna McLanahan; and eight great-grandchildren.
