© The Chickasha Express-Star Thursday, August 25, 2005 July 14, 1928 ~ August 23, 2005 Funeral services for Rachel Cossey, age 77, of Cement, will be Friday, August 26, 2005, at 2 PM, at the Assembly of God church in Cement. Rev Edward Whitley, Rev. Johnny Wray, and Rev Mike Bates will officiate. Rachel Cossey was born the daughter of John Henry Lewis and Mollie Ethel Young on July 14, 1928 in Sasakwa, Oklahoma. She died on August 23, 2005 at her home. Rachel grew up in rural Anadarko, helping her family on the farm. She married Granville Cossey on February 20, 1946 in Anadarko, Oklahoma. In 1957, she and Granville moved north of Cement, where they farmed and ranched. During this time, she and her lifetime friend, Genevieve Blakley, catered weddings and baked birthday cakes. Most important to her was being a homemaker and taking care of her family. She was known and loved by many as Aunt Rachel and Ma Cossey. Rachel attended the Assembly of God Church in Cement. She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville, parents, one brother, Johnny Cecil Lewis, and one sister, Owilda Taylor. She is survived by: Daughter & Husband: Dorothy & Keith Woodward of Cement; Son & Wife: Bo & Jennifer Cossey of Cement; Brother & Wife: Bill & Pauline Lewis of Anadarko; Sister & Husband; Ruth and Ed Whitley of Anadarko; Granddaughter & Husband: Trish & Mark Green of Apache Junction, Arizona; Granddaughter & Husband: Inita & Paul Denton of Germany; Grandson & Wife; Calvin & Amy Sales of Alexandrea, Nebraska; Grandson: Brock Cossey of Cement; Granddaughters: Kalie Cossey, Brooke Cossey, and Mackenzie Cossey all of Cement. Great Grandchildren: Lyssah Green, Joey Denton, Jordan Sales, Chad Denton, Brandon Sales, Lenne Green, and Andon Sales. Burial will be in the Laverty Cemetery. Viewing will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Cement, Thursday, from 10 A.M. to 7 P.M., and Friday from 9 A.M. to 1 P.M. Services are under direction of the McRay's Cyril Funeral Home. |
© Ferguson Funeral Home Chickasha, Oklahoma August 1962 August 2, 1962 ~ August 2, 1962 Funeral services will be held for James William "Bo" Cossey, 49 of Cement at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 9, 2012, in the Cement School Auditorium. Rev Laurie Stinnett of the Cement United Methodist Church, long-time friend, Rev John Zwolle of the Cement Pentecostal Holiness Church and Rev Ricky Prather of the Cement First Baptist Church will be officiating the service. James William "Bo" Cossey was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma, on August 2, 1962, to Granville Wayne Cossey and Laura Rachel [Lewis] Cossey. He died on Sunday, ≈ at home in Cement, Oklahoma. Bo grew up in rural Cement working on the family farm where he took pride in showing and raising chickens. He married Erica Sand on October 10, 1981, and to that union had two children, Brock Wayne Cossey and Kalie Dora Cossey. He married Jennifer Remy on September 23, 2000, and welcomed two more children, Brooke Rae Remy and Mackenzie Rose Remy. He loved his children unconditionally. Bo loved his family and friends more than anything in the world. He took pride in his gardens and land. He was an outstanding athlete and enjoyed watching all sports. He was preceded in death by: both parents; one son, Brock Wayne Cossey; paternal grandparents, James Melvin Cossey & Francis Ellen Cossey; maternal grandparents, John Henry Lewis and Ethel Molly [Young] Lewis; and one sister, Dorothy Anne Woodward. Survivors include: wife, Jennifer Cossey of the home; daughter, Kalie Hargus & husband, Weston; two step-daughters, Brooke and Mackenzie Remy; step granddaughter, Channing Oliver; and many nieces, nephews and cousins who called him "Uncle Bo." " Interment will be in the Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
© The Chickasha Express-Star Chickasha, Oklahoma May 23, 2006 January 12, 1984 ~ May 20, 2006 Funeral Services for Brock Wayne Cossey, 22, of Cement, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, 2006, in the Cement School Auditorium with Kim Hayes officiating and David Treadaway assisting. Brock Wayne Cossey was born January 12, 1984, the son of James William "Bo" Cossey and Erica Joyce Sand Cossey. He died Saturday, May 20, 2006 in Chickasha. Brock was raised in Cement, Oklahoma where he was active in little league baseball and Chickasha youth wrestling. He graduated from Cement High School in 2002. While in High School he was active with the Cement Bulldogs Baseball Team. After High School he worked in construction with his father and attended Caddo Kiowa Vo-Tech where he studied welding. He loved to spend his time helping out with the family farm, fishing with buddies and spending time with family and friends. Brock also cared for and helped his Grandma Cossey until her death. He was a huge New York Yankees baseball fan. Brock was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Granville and Rachel Cossey, and maternal grandparent, Dieter Sand. Survivors include, his father and stepmother: Bo and Jennifer Cossey of Cement; mother: Erica Cossey of Cement; sister, Kalie Cossey of Cement; stepsisters: Brooke Remy and Mackenzie Remy of Cement; maternal grandmother, Elaine Sand of Castle Rock, Colorado; aunts: Dorothy Woodward of Cement, Sheila Sand of Castle Rock, Colorado and Kathy Drnec of Aurora, Colorado. Interment will be in the Laverty Cemetery under the direction of Ferguson Funeral Home. |
