Donna Jo Hiskett Burton Percival
February 27, 1941 ~ September 7, 2023

Donna Jo Percival was born February 27, 1941, at Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Adam Leo "Pike" and Mary Alice [Dunlap] Hiskett. She died on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at St. Mary's Regional Medical Center at 82 years of age.

Donna grew up on the Hiskett farm, 5½ miles west of Minco.

She attended school in Minco. While there, she lettered in sports and band, sang in a trio that took the group to many singing events in the country and graduated from Minco High School in 1959.

She attended Friendship United Methodist Church and became a Christian, being baptized in a country pond.

Donna moved to Oklahoma City in 1960, taking her first job with Keystone Readers Service. Donna's work journey took her to many places: Black Sivalls & Bryson, CMI Corp., Oklahoma City Sales Barn working for Buck Cargill as financial secretary.

She joined Golden Septer Clark United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City and worked as a volunteer, selling bonds to build a new church, serving as custodian, teaching Sunday School, singing in the choir, and creating food baskets for the needy.

Her move to Alva, Oklahoma, in 1970, was the best journey of all, starting her family, which included LaDonna Rene' and Victor Lynn.

She attended NWOSU University in Alva and passed college courses at the top of her class.

While living in Alva, LaDonna was diagnosed with a heart condition and at age three months entered Oklahoma Children's Hospital. At the time the hospital was very ill equipped. The doctors took turns using a hand pump all night trying to save her life to no avail. In lieu of flowers, her parents requested a donation given toward a respirator for the hospital, with the parents making the difference in memory of LaDonna.

The respirator was delivered to the hospital with her name inscribed on the front. Many friends and family were in attendance at this very special event. Many Oklahoman children, as well as children from other states, were saved due to this respirator, including one from Minco.

Ladonna's life lives on in these children, now adults, due to the enormous generosity of family and friends, especially her parents.

Donna owned a home and pontoon boat on Tenkiller Lake and enjoyed her favorite outdoor sports, fishing, hunting, golf, and was proficient in slalom water skiing. She taught many people how to ski, including her sister Mary Jane. A trailer and boat were kept at Canton Lake, ready for fishing.

Her favorite two passions were ballroom dancing at the Skirvin Hotel and playing Bridge. Many Bridge parties occurred in Alva. A beautiful home and pool were built in Alva.

She volunteered her time and pool to teach children how to swim. Many adults and children's pool parties were enjoyed.

Donna owned an air coup. She took flying lessons until an eye problem occurred. She was never able to solo.

All friends had tickets to OU ballgames, so all enjoyed flying into Norman for the games and other places.

She was president of Upsilon Sigma Alpha Sorority. They had lots of pool and other parties. Fun for all.

1980 rolled around and Donna moved to Oklahoma City. She worked for Beauty Co. Retail Store, supervising 13 stores all over Oklahoma for 20 years.

She moved to Enid and retired from JC Penney in 2019 after 15 years of service. Victor Lynn graduated from Mustang High School and went on to graduate from OU with a Business Administration degree and now works for Hal Smith Enterprises.

She has now joined "God", family members and friends in her heavenly home. Her journey on this earth is completed. "JOB WELL DONE".

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Adam Leo and Mary Alice Hiskett, daughter LaDonna Rene' Burton, niece Mary Alice Foreman.
