© Wilson-Little Funeral Home Purcell, Oklahoma October 2023 December 12, 1941 ~ October 22, 2023 Frank Underwood age 81 of Tuttle, passed away on October 22, 2023. James Franklin Underwood was born in Joplin, Missouri to Jack Wetzel Underwood and Agnus Oleen [Mortinson] Underwood on December 12, 1941. When Frank was young his family moved to Fairfax, Ok and eventually moved on to Yukon, OK where he attended school and graduated with the Miller class of 1960. Right after graduation, Frank went to the recruitment office and enlisted in the United States Air Force. While in the military he was stationed in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. Upon returning from the service, Frank went to work for Rudy's Auto in Oklahoma City. A co-worker introduced him to her daughter, Sharon Louise Barrientos and they quickly fell in love. Frank and Sharon were married on June 5, 1964 and quickly began their family. Frank worked as a truck driver most of his life and made many sacrifices to keep his family taken care of. He took pride in his work, and always liked to have a clean truck that shined. Frank was on the road for over thirty years until his health forced him to retire in 1996. Frank had a passion for cars, both big and little. He often reminisced about hot rods he had like his Fairlane, Starliner, and Maverick and always enjoyed working on project cars when they came along. He built scale models of cars and had shelves lined with them in his home. He'd eventually give the models away so someone else could enjoy them and say "you can't keep them forever." Frank loved his family deeply and was a proud husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Agnus Underwood, his brother Joe Underwood, brother-in-law Merlin May, and his son Louie Underwood. He is survived by his wife of 59 years Sharon Underwood of the home, son Jack Eric Underwood of Tuttle, OK, his sister Sandy May of Ninnekah, OK, two grand children and four great grandchildren. Graveside services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Thursday October 26, 2023 at Fairview Cemetery in Tuttle, Oklahoma. www.wilsonlittle.com |
