Barbara [Jones] Taylor

Funeral service for Barbara Jones Taylor, 103, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 23, 2005 in the Chapel of Sevier Funeral Home.

Barbara Jones Taylor was born February 22, 1902 near Dawson, Navarro County, Texas to Samuel Houston Jones and Laura Pearson Jones and died December 20, 2005 in Noble, Oklahoma.

The family moved from Dawson to Paducha, Texas in 1907. Her mother became ill on the train trip and died soon after they arrived. They moved to Rush Springs, Grady County, Oklahoma in 1911. Barbara married Arthur Eugene Taylor in Wichita Falls, Texas on September 26, 1919 and lived in Grady County until 1957.

Barbara was a long time member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Oklahoma City. Her hobbies were playing dominoes with family and friends, quilting, crocheting, and baking cookies for neighborhood children.

Barbara was preceded in death by: Her parents: Samuel Houston and Laura Pearson Jones; her husband Arthur Eugene Taylor; five brothers: Archie, Charlie, Erby, Finis, and Sam Jones; three sons: Floyd, Jim and Carl Taylor; son-in-law: C. W. Cooper; three grandsons: Eugene Taylor, David Cooper and Jerry Bryant; grandson-in-law: Vernon Lee.

Survivors include: Children: Ivon and Tom Neal, Jean and Dale Bryant, Jo Cooper, Eddie and Ann Taylor, Larry Taylor, daughters-in-law: Delois Hicks Taylor, Mary Hearne Taylor; granddaughters: Barbara Neal, Judy Lee, Gail Bryant, Lyne and Mark Yeager, Becky and Eric Smith, Debbie and Bobby Sifers, Janice and Rob Sutterfield, Laurie and Paul Berry, Dana and Kevin McCroskey, Carla and Mike Murray, Cathy Taylor and Kevin Thompson; grandsons: Brett and Denise Taylor, Sam and Kelly Taylor, Doug Cooper, Don Taylor and Michael Taylor; 31 great grandchildren, 18 great great grandchildren.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Alberta [Davis] Taylor
May 21, 1903 ~ May 27, 2005


Graveside memorial service for Alberta Taylor, age 102 of Jasper, Arkansas, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, May 30, 2005, in the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Alberta was born the daughter of A. L. Davis and Rose Foster Davis on May 21, 1903, in Greenwood, Texas. She died on Friday, May 27, 2005, at the Newton County Nursing Home in Jasper, Arkansas.

Alberta was a longtime resident of Grady County and moved to Newton County, Arkansas, in 1992 from Chickasha, Oklahoma. She was a member of the Jasper First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters. Alberta was also preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence, on July 5, 1986.

Survivors include her son and wife, Dan & Mary Lou Taylor of Parthenon, Arkansas; son, Gerard Taylor of Chickasha; granddaughter, Mary Taylor of Iowa; and grandson and wife, Brad & Ann Taylor of New Hampshire.

Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

There will be no viewing at the funeral home since Alberta was cremated in Arkansas and the cremains will not be here until the service on Monday.

Graveside service for Pauline Dorothy Taylor Jeffcoat, 94, of Chickasha, Oklahoma will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2011 at the Fairlawn Cemetery.

Pauline Dorothy Taylor was born March 24, 1917 in Soper, the daughter of Mack and Nannie [Harris] Darnell. She died Thursday, Sept. 1, 2011 in Chickasha.

Pauline lived in the Chickasha area for over 40 years. She worked for Maremont for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by: Husband: David R. Taylor, Husband: Lile Jeffcoat, Great grandson: Justin Pettet.

Survivors include: 1 son: Wayne Baker and wife Nadine, 1 brother: Jack Darnell, Grandchildren: Nancy Hedrick, Kathy Pettet and husband, Gary, Aaron Baker, Jr., Great grandchildren: Christian Pettet and wife, Sarah, and Kiri Pettet. Several nieces and nephews including, Cindy Collins and Ann and R.A. Everett.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Rogene Jackson Taylor
July 16, 1923 ~ January 26, 2012


Funeral service for Rogene Jackson Taylor, 88, of Alex, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Monday, Jan. 30, 2012 at the Middleberg Baptist Church.

Rogene Jackson Taylor was born July 16, 1923 in the Blanchard area to William Albert "Ab" Taylor and Ada Belle Thorn Taylor. He died Jan. 26, 2012 in Chickasha.

He attended Springcreek and Middleberg schools. He grew up with a farming and ranching background, working at various jobs including 21 Ranch for several years. Rogene and Vertilene Thompson were united in marriage on Jan. 3, 1944 in Chickasha. They owned and operated a dairy farm in Grady County for over 40 years. Rogene always had a horse beneath him and a dog beside him. He loved rodeos and anything involving livestock. Rogene was a member of the Middleberg Baptist Church and a founding member of the Circle C. Round Up Club.

Rogene is survived by son and daughter-in-law: Ronnie and Shirley Taylor; daughters and sons-in-law: Elaine and Ricky Drennan, Brenda Johnson, Regena and Rick Reeves all of Alex; Grandchildren Tammy Taylor, Todd Taylor of Alex, Tyanne Taylor of Chickasha; Trent Drennan of Blanchard, Crystie Shebester, Jake Johnson, Ryan Reeves, and Ross Reeves of Alex; Great- grandchildren Amanda Benson of Yukon, Blake Taylor of Chickasha, Cooper and Konner Shebester of Alex, Ryder Drennan of Blalnchard and Kaisyn Reeves of Alex; and Great-great-grandchildren include Karson and Khloe Benson of Yukon.

Rogene is preceded in death by wife Vertilene Taylor August 21, 2007; parents Ab Taylor and Ada Belle Thorn Taylor, brothers and sisters-in-law Roscoe and Hazel Taylor, Cleo and Charlotte Taylor and great-grandson Dillon Brewer.

Pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandson: Todd Taylor, Trent Drennan, Jake Johnson, Ryan Reeves, Ross Reeves and Blake Taylor.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Funeral service for Vertilene Thompson Taylor, 83, of Alex, will be held at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2007 at the Middleberg Baptist Church.

Vertilene Thompson Taylor was born December 13, 1924 in Madill, Oklahoma and died August 21, 2007 in Chickasha.

She lived in Grady County all of her life. She and Rogene Taylor were married January 3, 1944 in Chickasha. They owned and operated a dairy farm north of Alex for many years.

She was preceded in death by: Parents; two sisters; one brother.

Survivors include: Husband: Rogene Taylor of the home; one son: Ronnie Taylor and wife Shirley of Alex; three daughters: Elaine Drennan and husband Ricky of Alex; Brenda Johnson and husband Greg of Alex; Regena Reeves and husband Rick of Alex; one sister: Willa Dean Fisher of Amarillo, Texas; eight grandchildren: Tammy Taylor, Todd Taylor, Tyanne Taylor, Trent Drennan, Crystie Shebester, Jake Johnson, Ryan Reeves and Ross Reeves; five great-grandchildren: Dillon Brewer, Amanda Taylor, Blake Taylor, Cooper Shebester, and Konner Shebester.

Norma Louise [Arnold] Taylor
September 28, 1926 ~ January 28, 2005


Funeral service for Norma Louise Taylor, age 78, of Chickasha, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2005, in the McRay Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Johnny Wray will officiate. Norma Louise Taylor was born the daughter of Harvey A. Arnold and Ruth Viola Toten Arnold on September 28, 1926, in Bellflower, California. She died on January 28, 2005, in Chickasha.

At the age of 3 1/2 years old, Norma was brought back to Oklahoma. She was reared in the Anadarko area and graduated from Anadarko High School in 1944. Norma married William "Bill" Lewis Taylor on November 8, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas. Norma had worked at the Anadarko Telephone Company, Tinker Field and worked in the office at Hermetic Switch, Inc. for 16 years. Hermetic Switch was like a second home to here.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Bill on November 7, 1989.

Survivors include her daughter and husband, Beverly & Les Simpson of Houston, Texas; son and wife, Ron & Tandy Taylor ot Tomball, Texas; three grandchildren, Missy Simpson Peterson, Rob Simpson, and Zack Taylor; one great grandson, Jack Peterson; sister, Jane Owen of Verden; two sisters-in-law, several nephews and nieces; and many special friends. Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Service will be under the direction of the McRay Funeral Home.

Funeral service for William Hurshel Taylor, of Chickasha, will be 10 a.m., Friday July 11, 2014 at the Sharon Baptist Church.

William Hurshel Taylor was born July 25, 1927 in Chickasha, to Albert and Ada [Thorn] Taylor. He passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in Blanchard, at the age of 86.

Mr. Taylor graduated from Middleberg High School and had lived in Grady County all of his life.

He married Ermyl Frances "Jean" Newton on July 27, 1948 in Chickasha.

He was a member of the Sharon Baptist Church.

Mr. Taylor is preceded in death by his parents and thre brothers: Roscoe, Cleo and Rogene Taylor.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean Taylor of the home; two sons: Steve Taylor and his wife, Beverly, of Amber and Dwight Taylor of Chickasha; two daughters: Janon Howard and her husband, Tom, of Oklahoma City, and Rhonda Boyd and her husband, Mike, of Chickasha; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He also is survived by numerous nephews, nieces and other relatives.

Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery, Chickasha under the direction of Sevier Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Betty Jo Taylor~Davis, 71, will be held Wednesday October 25, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at the First and Georgia Church of Christ. Brother Willie Mays will be the Minister officiating the service.

Betty was born unto Mr. and Mrs. Will Taylor on September 13, 1935 in Chickasha, OK. She passed away on October 17, 2006 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Viewing will be held on Monday, October 23, and Tuesday, October 24 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Brown/Christian Funeral Home Chapel.

Services are under the direction of the Brown/Christian Funeral Home.

Herbert Allen Taylor

Chickasha - Funeral for Herbert Allen Taylor, 70, Chickasha, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God, 3340 S. 16th, Chickasha, with Paul Knight, pastor, officiating. Mr. Taylor died Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2006, in Oklahoma City.

Burial will be in Fairlawn Cemetery under direction of McRay Funeral Home, Chickasha.

He was born Sept. 1, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to Herbert and Julia Taylor. The family moved to Los Angeles in 1944.

He married Sherrill Hudson on Feb. 14, 1956.

He was drafted by the Army in 1959 and served his tour of duty in Alaska.

He accepted a civil service position with the military and the couple lived in Alaska for 16 years. In 1976, they moved to Lawton, where he was employed at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. as a maintenance technician. During their 21 years in Lawton, he joined the staff of Grace Christian Fellowship as an associate pastor and accountant. In 1997, the couple moved to Chickasha, where he worked as a professional tax preparer for clients in Lawton and Chickasha.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Angela Taylor, Richmond; a daughter and son-in-law, Kathie and Randy Talley, Chickasha; nine grandchildren: Brian, Amanda, Robert, Jesse, Kerry Anne, Adrian, Hudson, Stalder and Joel; five nieces and nephews; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Dennis; and a sister, Becky.

Carl Hubbell Taylor
October 13, 1936 ~ July 12, 2000


Carl H. Taylor was born on October 13, 1936, in Rush Springs, Oklahoma, the son of Arthur Eugene Taylor and Barbara Jones Taylor. He died on Wednesday,July 12, 2000, in Kansas City, Missouri, at the age of sixty-three years, eight months, and twenty-nine days.

Carl attended public schools in Oklahoma and graduated from Chickasha High School in 1954. He enlisted in the United States Air Force after graduation. After his discharge, he attended Oklahoma State University and graduated in 1963.

Mr. Taylor married Mary Louise Hearn on April 27, 1963, at the Pennsylvania Avenue Christian Church in Oklahoma City.

Carl worked for Aetna Casualty and Surety Company in Tulsa moving to the Kansas City branch in October of 1980. He retired in 1993, as the branch claims manager of the Kansas City office. He subsequently was employed by the Craft, Fridkin and Rhyne Law Firm in Kansas City from 1993 to 1999.

Survivors include his wife, Mary of the home; daughter and son-in-law Carla and Mike Murray of Rogers, Arkansas; daughter, Cathy Taylor of Girdwood, Alaska; son, Brett Taylor of Kansas City, Missouri; son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Kelly Taylor of Seattle, Washington; Grandsons, Jonathan and Ben Murray of Rogers, Arkansas; mother, Barbara Taylor; sister and brother-in-law, Ivon and Tom Neal; sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Dale Bryant; sister,Jo Cooper; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Ann Taylor; brother, Larry Taylor;sister-in-law, Delois Taylor; numerous other relatives.

Arville Joan [Irwin] Taylor

Arvella Joan Tabor, of Chickasha, Oklahoma was born May 13, 1942 in Borger, Texas to Frank and Cora [Burdett] Irwin. She passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at her home in Chickasha, at the age of 75.

Arvella graduated from Duncan High School and moved to Chickasha in 1974. She taught kindergarten thru the 8th grade and special education teacher for Chickasha Public Schools until 1999. She also taught in Kansas and in Moore Public Schools.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold Welch.

Arvella is survived by her two daughters, Sarah Tabor and Leslie Tabor.

Charles Dwight Taylor
November 20, 1954 ~ April 17, 2017

Charles Dwight Taylor was born on November 20, 1954 to Jean and Hurshel Taylor in Chickasha, Oklahoma. He went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 17, 2017 at his daughters home, where he had been living the past three years.

Dwight graduated from Amber-Pocasset in 1973. He then opened his own backhoe service and operated it for several years. On July 2, 1981 he married Michele Tadlock. From this marriage came his two children, Jeremy and Natasha.

Dwight loved raising horses, driving the big tractors and being outside watching the cattle and farming. He had a passion for his family and ranching. He worked for the McCalla Ranch for 13 years and then for Wheeler farms for the next 18 years. During this time he also owned and operated his own pallet company.

Dwight loved going out with his friends and enjoying his Shirley Temples. He also enjoyed watching Jerry Springer and eating the best homemade Snickers blizzards.

Dwight was preceded in death by his dad, Hurshel Taylor.

He is survived by his mother, Jean Taylor of Chickasha, OK; Son, Jeremy Taylor and wife, Keeley, of Chickasha, OK; Daughter, Natasha Conrad and husband, Terry, of Chickasha, OK; His five grandchildren that he adored, Carter, Slater and Kooper Taylor, Wyatt Steelman and Waylon Conrad. His sisters: Janon Howard and husband, Tom, of Oklahoma City, OK; Rhonda Boyd and husband, Mike, of Chickasha, OK; Brother, Steve Taylor and wife, Beverly, of Amber, OK; And many nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear lifelong friends.
