Chickasha Gl Dies in Action

CHICKASHA A 24-year-old Chickasha soldier, S-4 James E. Reeder, son of Mr and Mrs Hershel Reeder of Chickasha, has been killed in Vietnam action.

The Special Forces trooper had extended his tour voluntarily.

He was the fifth Chickasha resident among 726 Oklahomans who have died in the war during the last six years.

Patricia Ruth "Patty" Reeder
January 1, 1947 ~ December 10, 2018


Funeral service for Patricia "Patty" Ruth Reeder, 71, of Chickasha, OK will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Bible Baptist Church. Pastor Kim Hayes will officiate.

Patty was born the daughter of Hershel and Lydia Reeder on January 1, 1947 in San Luis Obispo, CA. She died on December 10, 2018 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Patty came to Chickasha from California in 1957 where she attended both Chickasha and Friend schools. She was employed by the Opportunity Workshop and in childcare.

She was a member of Bible Baptist Church for over 30 years.

Patty was preceded in death by her parents Hershel and Lydia Reeder; brothers Donnie, James and Carl Reeder; sisters Beulah Jones and Kathy Krog; and one great niece.

Patty is survived by nieces Crystal Kanatzar and husband Brandon, Tammy Seward, Janice Pernell, Gale Asbury, Sarah Ford and Sherilyn Reeder; nephew Gary Jones; and a host of great nieces and nephews and great great nieces and nephews.

+ Interment will be in the Fairlawn Cemetery. Services are under the direction of McRay Funeral Home.
